I loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the host and his family. He was able to help us arrange transportation to/from the guesthouse and also the safari jeep. The location is very quiet despite being by the main road. It’s located some distance from the safari but still relatively close by. we managed to see the elephant and even a leopard! The room itself was clean and well planned, all the basic amenities were provided for us.

Gihan and his wife truly care for all of their guests, looking after their wellbeing and also allowing for independence and privacy. It felt to nice to be well cared for, especially when traveling alone. Gihan can help arrange tours and activities and will take you himself in his Tuk Tuk when available. They have bikes for hire and I enjoyed riding all around Anuradhapura a couple of times. Their food is amazing! In the past they owned a restaurant and it shows. A huge variety and the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I am gluten intolerant and they were very accommodating to my diet. You can tell they care a lot about their business, investing in it and caring for their clients. Extend your stay, you won’t regret it. There’s much to see In Anuradhapura and you’ll not want to leave Corner Cottage.

Staff were amazing and host was easy to contact and flexible. Location was well out of the way with an amazing lake within a few minutes walk with trials to walk also bit perfect for Wilpattu national park. Food was really nice and the room had everything you could need.

Mr Kalhara is very kind and thoughtful, it was pleasant to stay in his house! Breakfast was very good! Room is super clean. Big bed , clean bedclothes, normally working ac and fan, good hot water! We had a wonderful stay at Sweet Home Tourist Rest, Cooking Classes & Tours. The comfort level was top-notch — everything was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our room came with its own living room, making it feel like a full apartment rather than just a guest room. For a very reasonable price, we had a completely private space to ourselves, which we really appreciated. The location is also ideal — the area is peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. A special thanks to Nilukshan, who organized some truly extraordinary tours for us, including the Wilpattu safari, and visits to Anuradhapura and Mihintale. Each one was memorable and perfectly arranged, giving us deep insights into the history and beauty of the region. We also took part in a cooking class conducted by Malsha, which was another highlight of our stay. The class was hands-on, fun, and absolutely delicious — we learned a lot and enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area — it’s more than just accommodation, it’s an experience!

Easily one of the nicest accommodations we have visited in Sri Lanka. The family running it is extremely friendly and supportive! They arranged for us a guide, kept our TukTuk secured and clean, and went the extra mile to support us during the power outage. Also, definitely join them for some dinner, it’s by far some of the best food we’ve had so far!
