Our room was spacious, clean, had very comfy beds, a comfy sofa, and had easily the nicest bathroom of any of the hotels during our trip. The shower water pressure went almost to jet wash levels which was unbelievably welcome after those long days spent trekking around Kyoto in muggy September heat. Despite being in the middle of busy Gion, the location is down a quiet back street and accordingly there was very little noise from outside at night to detract from a good night's sleep. The AC kept the room nice and cool without much noise as well. All of our interactions with the staff were great. They don't fail to greet you with a smile, and were very helpful on the few occasions we needed assistance with things like booking luggage forwarding. They were also very quick to reply to an email query before our stay which made a strong first impression. There's a pair of coin operated washing machine/dryers on the 2nd floor along with an ice dispenser and microwave. A good selection of travel essentials is available at reception plus a free coffee and juice machine by the front desk. All in all we had a 10/10 stay and I will absolutely look to book a room here again next time I'm in Kyoto.

Establecido a menos de 1 km de Gion Shijo Station y a 13 minutos a pie de Kiyomizu-dera Temple, 東山の宿 藤屋 ofrece habitaciones con aire acondicionado y un baño compartido en Kioto. Linda was keen to show us how the appliances worked, her restaurant recommendations, and the events during our stay. She could not be nicer !

Ubicado a 8 minutos a pie de Shoren-in Temple y a 1.2 km de Samurai Kembu Kyoto, Azukiya tiene habitaciones con aire acondicionado y un baño privado en Kioto. Staying there was a delight The room looked exactly like on the pictures except it felt bigger and really cosy. The bathroom was perfect, very clean and honestly quite spacious when compared to other accommodations in Japan. It really felt like having a traditional Japanese room but with all the comfort of modern times. We were also worried to be cold coming in November but the place had definitely enough heating to keep the room warm if needed. Breakfast, japanese or western style (still with a Japanese touch) was delicious, very filling and everytime different. The location was overall very nice as the subway station is mere minutes away and Gion area isn't too far while other areas north of Kyoto are also in walkable distance. Kitamura-san was just the cherry on the cake as she was extremely helpful, welcoming and caring. It felt wrong to leave the place.

Ubicado en Kioto y a 6 minutos a pie de Sanjusangen-do Temple, Kyo-Anthu Inn cuenta con un jardín, habitaciones para no fumadores y WiFi gratis. Incredible hospedaje. Todo muy limpio y en buena ubicación céntrico para las principales atracciones de la ciudad. El hotel es de una familia que es muy amable y atenta, te tratan como si estuvieras en casa. Nos ayudaron con la lavandería y se ofrecieron a llevarnos en coche a la estación en nuestra partida.
