For us Ashirvad Homestay was a welcoming and quiet refuge in an otherwise chaotic city. The location, a bit removed from the clutter near the river, is in an almost rural setting across the road from a park. Aman, the manager, was exceptionally helpful, changing money, arranging an airport transfer, setting up aboat trip and on Day One, negotiating a tuk-tuk for us. Trust me, if you do any of these activities, let Aman set them up for you.

Estação de trem de Bharatpur fica a 47 km de distância. + location was top, right in the middle of everything + the Ashram is beautiful maintained, with everything that you need (different soaps provided, complementary water/coffee/tea/cookies) + unlimited hot water at any time + perfectly working ac + it was one of the most cleanest accommodation we've stayed in during our journey through india + the rooms are huge and there are three of them + the inner court was very peaceful and you have some chairs with a table, right in front of your door to have a view into the patio (many animals are located there, playing over the lawn, even monkeys are around, but they are very peaceful as vell) + the staff is very friendly and helpful. We had contact to three very nice man from the Ashram. One of them gave us a short overview about what's around and told us a little about the history. One of them asked us every day if our room has to be cleaned and if everything is all right, and Tej prakash ordered a taxi for us, so we had an easy departure. We would absolutely recommend staying at this little oasis. :D

The rooftop view of the Ganges during sunrise was absolutely breathtaking, and the staff even helped arrange a boat ride that became one of the highlights of my trip. If you’re looking for an affordable yet truly authentic stay in Varanasi, Banaras Rest House is the place to be.
