This was a lovely flat to spend a couple of days visiting Salzburg. Easy walking distance to old town and very quiet. It was helpful to have parking and the amenities all worked well. The location of the penzion/apartment is excellent, the property itself is beautifully decorated, there is enough parking, the apartment was very nice and very clean, equipped with everything we needed. We visited them in October, the apartment was pleasantly heated. Great for visiting the city by bus, and great for enjoying the peace of the suburbs. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful, we also received all the information about the surrounding area and the city.

This guest house features free private parking and a housekeeping service. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Waldhof is very clean and well-maintained pension. The bed was comfortable and the balcony had a nice view of the mountains. During hot summer days, the air in the rooms is cooler, which is a relief after a full day of hiking and walking in the sun. The breakfast is always fresh, the host is very nice, kind, and helpful. We communicated in English, so the fact that I don't speak German was not a problem. For those who do not come by car, there's a bus station nearby. Waldhof is conveniently located about halfway between Salzburg and Fuschlsee, making it easy to visit the city one day and head in the opposite direction the next day, to bathe in one of the region's lakes or at least see their incredible blue water. (The app Sbg Verkehr is useful for checking bus schedules in real time or buying tickets.) Additionally, from Waldhof, it is easy to go into the forest, hike in the surrounding mountains and enjoy the view if you reach the Nockstein peak. Here, you don't feel like a client in a hotel, but rather like a guest in a home. A really nice experience.

Hohensalzburg Fortress is 2.7 km from Pension Ballwein, while Getreidegasse is 2.8 km away. The nearest airport is W. A. Mozart Airport, 3 km from the property. This even exceeded my expectations. I saw the many positive reviews ... and still was positivly surprised ... This is the ideal place if you come by car (good, safe, free of charge and enough parking next to the house), a bus stop (Nr 21 "Gsengerweg") to the city center is also right there (between the parking and street with busstop is just a hedge sepatating street and house.) For me it was an ideal place to relax (very calm but safe environment, much nature) and work (desk in the room, good light). My room had a spaceful cosy balcony with view to mountains (besides: it's that mountain from the "Sound of Music poster"). Spaceful modern bathroom. Super clean,  room, even the inside the wardrobe had a fresh/neutral smell. My room was modern but cosy, perfect size, tasteful room design. There was a mini bar in my room with good choise of things, a kettle and coffee machine, teas and coffee, hair dryer, safety box, air conditioning, good size TV, sofa, balcony with comfy chairs. Nearby are several restaurants in walking distance (Lake of "Sound of Music" is just 1 km away). Breakfast is included and very good. But the best was: The owners - a family - of this pension are super kind, they really care for their house and for their guests, in the exact proper way (not too much, just right and sensitive for each guest's needs) -  I felt super good and "at home". (Little secret: "Family pension" is a bit of an understatement, the couple are both trained in hotel management, they are professionels! This is like a 4 star hotel which feels like a home!)

The breakfast was great and on top of that, there were snacks available when we weren't in the mood for a full meal or the restaurant was closed. By the way, the restaurant was excellent!
