The hotel is small, clean and very nicely decorated. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi were working alright. The breakfast was nice compared to other options in Costa Rica. I was especially happy with the very nice receptionist, Carmen, who went out of her way to provide us with the best recommendations on what to do in Tortuguero and where to book it. Also, the location of the hotel is ideal as a starting point for tours, exploring the Parque National or just visiting a restaurant or a soda. (By contrast, if you stay in San Francisco, you will need a boat ride for almost everything.)

We spent only 1 night to do a night tour. The room was very nice, super clean, with AC, which was so important as it was too hot outside. The house is just in front of the sea so you can hear at night the sound of the waves, it was so relaxing. Also, in the room there were coffee, tea, and some candies. We really loved our stay here. The host was absolutely outstanding! I booked this hostel 15 minutes before we turned up as the place we arrived at beforehand was covered in bedbugs. Jose was able to accommodate 14 people at the drop of a hat as he has just refurbished and renovated the hostel. The showers were brilliant, the guest space was huge. Coffee and tea facilities available all day. Several fans in the room. Washing service available. Jose couldn’t do enough for us!

Good location of the hotel. Cozy rooms but enough to stay for night. But the real gem is the manager Antonio! He is super excellent!!! He helped us with the main issues and also besides of the hotel - to help with the tours and gave recommendations what to see. Highly recommend!

This place felt like home. The owners were lovely and helped when I needed it. It was a very homely place and extremely clean. The space out the back of the property was great for eating breakfast. The Wi-Fi was good. The bathroom was nice and big and spacious too. I was picked up from the dock so I would know where I was going. Improvement point is maybe the room could do with some hooks on the back of the door for a rain jacket but that is so minor. I would highly recommend this place for anyone to stay.
