Set in park-like grounds on the shores of Lake Te Anau, 5 minutes' walk from the town centre, Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers has both mountain and lake views from the majority of the rooms. Great location, very clean, they have very large common area indoor and outdoor to enjoy. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. We stayed twice in our trip. Also they have great view 😊 Highly recommended

Great place with all the facilities one might need for a comfortable stay such as showers with hot water, a kitchen and a laundry room. Even has free WiFi which is a huge plus. The staff was lovely and helpful.

Staff/onwners were super kind and helpful, the room and the cottage were super comfortable and warm! We made a lovely barbacue outside and the vibe was great! If you are looking for a quiet and cool place to stay before you head up to Milford this is the right place!

We stayed three nights and had time to enjoy both Te Anau and Milford Sounds. We were a bit hesitant of the dimensions at first but at the end we ate at home and the kitchen had everything we needed, and having dinner outside in the garden was very peaceful. Overall would recommend!
