The room is very clean since all shoes are asked to keep at reception. The room size and accessory is perfect.

The onsen was eye-opening to say the least. It is located beside a stream / forest, and it was refreshing to soak in the onsen while listening to the stream flow by.

I booked this hotel without much expectation, mainly for the convenience of traveling to Ginzan Onsen. But once I checked in, I felt a bit regretful that I didn’t have more time to stay. The hotel is beautiful and clean, the staff are lovely, and they even upgraded my room. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The public onsen was beautiful, clean, and very inviting, and there was even a private onsen in the room. The hotel is beautifully decorated with plenty of photo spots throughout.

The wooden structure of the property portrays a traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Free Wi-Fi is available at the lobby. One of the best ryokans we’ve stayed at in Japan. The location feels straight out of a Ghibli movie, with over 300 years of history and an amazing atmosphere. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed some of the best Japanese food each day at the ryokan restaurant. Since both me and my partner have tattoos, we booked the private onsen every evening through reception. The real highlight was the staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, spoke good conversational English, and checked in daily to ensure everything was perfect. Highly recommended for an authentic, cozy ryokan experience!

The staff went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requirements and properly communicate them with us. We had a room with our own private open air bath which was very easy to use and adjust. All the amenities were very clean and easy to access as well.

A free shuttle is available from JR Matsushima Kaigan Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. The service and room was very good. When we called from the train station near by, the hotel fixed shuttle bus for us, which was very helpful. It was very good for family with small children as well. We all enjoy very much together. The view from the room was excellent.
