Location: 5 out of 5. The estate is located at the highest part of the mountain in Lake Taupo. You can enjoy the beautiful sunrise, sunset and even stargazing right outside of the room. My wife and I even managed to catch Elon Musk's Starlink in action! Host: Fantastic hosts. Michelle and Peter are very friendly. Peter make great breakfast. 👍 Peter also brought us around the farm to feed the sheeps, cows and deers. The animals were super friendly and we were able to come up close with them. We had the best farmstay ever! We would highly recommend staying at Hilltop Whakaipo Estate for a minimum of 2 nights for the best farm stay experience.

The hosts were extremely welcoming, very helpful, friendly and personable. The property was beautiful, great views, comfortable. It was the sort of.place we wanted to stay longer to experience more of it. Highly recommended

The location was 10 minute drive from the centre of Taupo, breakfast was excellent. Angie and Garth were incredibly friendly giving us help with places to eat and all around the local area. Despite the cold weather in New Zealand for summer we had a fire in the lodge to keep us warm.

On 6 week tour and this was one of the best and nicest accommodations we stayed in . Do try to book dinner one night as it is exceptional and your hosts are marvellous cooks.

Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort is just 800 metres from Lake Taupo crater lake. It has a natural thermal spa and is only 5 minutes' drive from the Taupo town centre. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Cascades Lakefront Motel is located on the edge of Lake Taupo and has a heated outdoor pool and hot tub. Free WiFi and cable TV are included. There is plenty of free parking for trailers and boats.

Great accomodation with amazing view. Very private in somewhat secluded location but still close to city (by car). There was everything we needed and more (sweets and bubbles much appreciated). Definitely recommend.
