Great location and welcoming owners. We were on motorbikes in the rain and they gave us extra towels. Great pub down the road. Spacious room and lovely atmosphere.

Very friendly host. Spacious and comfortable room. Each chalet has its own patio and garden table. We did not have problems with mosquitoes, but should there be any, multiple insect repellant devices are provided. Extensive kitchen equipment. Whatever is not provided in the chalet itself is provided in the common kitchen, e.g., oil, soy sauce, bigger pans, pizza oven. Washing machine and drier available in the common area. Good shower.

The park was right on the beach. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean. There is a coffee shop and restuarant right accross from park.

Stunning location, authentic friendly hosts, a traditional kiwi bach feel but well appointed and with everything we needed. We appreciated being able to bring our dog, too.

We booked rather last minute and were pleasantly surprised by our accomodations. We booked it at 4pm, called, and Heather said to check in whenever we're ready. We got there around 5:30 after we picked up groceries for the next 2 days. It's easy to find and in a great location in Golden Bay amongst wooded nature. Upon parking, we were greeted immediately by Heather who helped cart our luggage across a bridge over a small creek. Our little house was a short walk across the lawn, and it was a large space with a lot of light. The photos don't do it justice. Heather had a vase full of fresh cut flowers, 2 bowls of fruit picked from her yard, and a platter of nuts for us to enjoy, and showed us how to use the composting toilet that was in an adjacent build out (it's not inside the house but the 2 step walk is connected and covered). Most toilets we encountered in Golden Bay were composting toilets. She also gave us the option of using the laundry facilities or the flush toilet in her house. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was fully functional, and showers were hot. It was peaceful, beautiful, quiet, and the stars were beautiful. Our toddler loved it. It feels like staying at my grandparent's house, which suited us just fine. On our checkout day, Heather came by and told us to take our time, since no one else booked the place. Great value, would stay there again!
