Czech RepublicThe location is great if you want to go to Lipton's seat - aprox. 30 min by tuk tuk. The breakfast was delicious - plate of fruits, you can choose eggs - scrambled/omelette, toasts with butter and jam, juice, tea and coffee. The staff is nice and helpful. You can pay accommodation by card. They organized taxi from Haputale to Negombo for 35000 rupies. Definitely recommended!

AustriaMy stay at Thumb Up was truly special! Ghanty made me feel really welcome and at home, the atmosphere is one of familiality and kindness towards their guests. The room was clean and very comfortable, perfect to settle in after a long day of exploring Haputale and the beautiful nature around it with a scooter you can rent directly from them. Watching the sunset from the roof terrace overlooking the tea plantations and hills really rounded off every day and made my stay even more enjoyable. If you‘re looking to stay in Haputale, this is the place!

We had a large bedroom with two large comfortable beds which was perfect for my husband and I and our two children. Breakfast was good and we did an excellent and fun cookery class, followed by a delicious eating the things we cooked. Can walk straight from the door. We did a couple of beautiful stages of the Pekoe trail. It’s a good base for visiting the area.
