Worth every cent! What an experience! I wasn't sure at first (as I had the whole responsibility on me to decide for the group I was with) and if you're on a budget like we were, well this is a spend ..BUT..so happy I booked Ryokan Sumiya Kihon. As a tattooed group we had to rent private. It was hilarious to be butt naked with your best friends and ridiculously relaxing. The food is delicious. Breakfast= huge but Dinner = a little small for our crew. (Spanish/Australian mix). It's fine. Just bring snacks ;).

Beautiful stay. The area/home was so scenic/picturesque and relaxing. It was sooo clean! Room was spacious with lovely decor. Lots of toiletries provided. The only regret I have is not getting there earlier and stay longer than one night! The private sauna/spa area was amazing! Couldn't have been happier and the most perfect way to unwind and relax. Right in the heart of the national park, which was a lovely walk in the morning.

It is so far the best vacation rental that I have been to! The place is modern, clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed our stay there and had BBQ at the terrace viewing at the magnificent scene. Wonderful. Ai at reception was kind and helpful. I stayed here because I wanted to watch a football match at the stadium which is right next door. I didn't have a ticket and Ai and her colleague helped me get one using her colleagues membership card to book it on line. Ai speaks great English and answered all my questions. I was there at the peak of cherry blossom season and took a bus for 15 minutes from Kameoka to Nanatakigawa, a relatively unknown spot, which was wonderful. Kameoka is quiet with some great authentic restaurants (recommend Hatori) and only 20 minutes from Kyoto station. The onsen is perfect too. Highly recommend.
