The building itself had recently undergone a major renovation, so everything was new. A beautiful victorian manor, the renovations have maintained the charm of the place while providing modern amenities. Very well done. The staff were great - extremely polite and helpful, we lost our luggage en-route and the staff helped us to recover it. I think they went the extra mile. Breakfast (full English) was cooked to order and very tasty - proper bacon and sausage, also very good selection of bread, spreads etc. The dining room and bar areas very well designed, retaining the We also went for a walk around the grounds, over a bridge and down the river, about 1 hours walk - very nice, everything well maintained. Also the location was excellent - rural but only 25 mins drive to York centre.

Property felt homely. It was clean, well equipped and cosy. My children loved it as did I. Parking was at nearby street but it was so close to the cottage it wasn’t an issue. I would visit again 100%

All the staff were very friendly, always dressed very smart. The room was quite big, fluffy towels, hairdryer in room. Good supply of the best tea, Yorkshire Tea! Good supply of milk, sugar, coffee & decaf coffee. Large TV in room. Plenty of plug sockets. Bedside lights were bright enough, so no need for "big light" Good shower in bathroom
