the location is perfect for climbing Chirripo, you can hire transport to the beginning of the trail for $12. Bernan and Shirley are great hosts, they provided valuable information about local sites to visit. Food was great every time. A mention apart is the "Jardín" itself, it is just a pleasure to walk in the trails and see different plants and beautiful flowers.

This Hotel and its location is beyond beautiful and exceeded our expectations by far. The view is stunning as well as the gardens surrounding the house. There are so many beautiful flowers and birds to see. Waking up to this view was a highlight. Got served delicious breakfast with fresh fruits and eggs and coffee on the hosts terrace. The hosts were lovely, telling us about the area and made us feel very welcome. Also very convenient location if you travel between San Jose and the coast.

The location is incredible: beautiful but calm and peaceful (I really couldn't believe that this place wasn't overrun by tourists, less beautiful places are), colibris at breakfast, incredible (but challenging) trails with waterfalls at the reserve (you actually need two full days for the reserve, although I only had one because I also visited Cloudbridge). Also a big thank you to the very friendly and helpful staff: they made great suggestions for my hiking day in the reserve, they drove me to my cabin with a car because there was heavy rain when I arrived, meals were great, ...

Great location! I'd stopped here previously to eat, but hadn't realised there was accommodation. The cabins are great: really cozy wooden interiors, well equipped with coffee maker, nice shower and outdoor chairs. We had a fantastic view out over the valley. The cabins are down the hill a bit so you don't heard the highway at all. There's a nice network of trails down by the cabins which proved excellent for birding. And of course, the hummingbird feeders are amazing.

This hotel was very special for us and definitely one of our best accommodations in Costa Rica. Staying in a very tastefully furnished house at cloud level and enjoying the surroundings by a fireplace was unique. Greivin was an outstanding host, his great hospitality rounded it all off and we felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived.
