Everything is top notch, room is spacious and clean with daily room service, staff is extremely friendly, warm and hospitable. I would like to express my great gratitude to Iwasaki (岩崎） at dining and Yamada (山田泰子） at reception, they are doing their best to make customers happy with great smile 😃 Not forgetting to mention the meals which is very delicious, ingredients are fresh and with great variety. Good plan for sleep and social. House was spacious and clean, games to play and good area for eating and relaxing. Excellent utilities and a big plus for having dishing service in a private rent. Good area to dry ski equipment and clothes.

We would highly recommend Nakaya Ryokan to anyone else we know travelling. We thought the hospitality was exceptional and we are very grateful for the experience we had. They helped us manage our luggage via storage. They were always so helpful and kind. They offer private onsens which were outstanding. They were also able to accommodate us for an extra night while we negotiated train delays and cancellations and so much more. Thank you Nakaya Ryokan Team!

Lovely spacious rooms, helpful kind staff, Meals were well prepared and the afternoon tea on check in was a lovely touch. View from room and outdoor bath was stunning, so special. Staff very helpful when we needed extra help to contact local onsen, they were so kind and called ahead for us so we could keep our booking on very short notice.

The host and his wife are very accomodating and helpful with any request. The room is clean and spacious and the coffee is great! I recommend this place wholeheartedly! There is also an onsen nearby and a ski resort.

It was so peaceful and relaxed. Tami is a true artist and has created an amazing workspace and I am so glad that I chose here rather than staying in a conventional hotel and hiding away in my room …there was always someone to chat to downstairs or I could escape and study upstairs. I met so many wonderful people and Tami San was exceptional. She cooked me nabe on my last night there.

The staff were super friendly and very helpful. The multiple Onsens were fantastic, in particular the outdoor ones, as well as the dinner. The curtesy shuttle to and from the station was very helpful as we arrived and departed during snow fall.
