A stunning hotel on the riverside right in the heart of Guayaquil's Historic Park. The rooms are large and well decorated, the service is excellent and the food - both at breakfast and in the various restaurants - is really good. By staying at the hotel you are located literally inside the park, which has a lot of flora and fauna as well as various old buildings that have been restored either as museums or in one case as an upscale restaurant. Guayaquil is very hot and humid, and the hotel felt like an oasis from the city and the heat. It has an orchid garden courtyard inside, a beautiful old chapel which is still active, and a very pretty and well appointed gym. We spent a lot of our stay in and around the hotel, and although it's definitely not cheap, we were extremely grateful to have booked it (we were stopping in Guayaquil on our way to Galapagos).

Set in a charming house in Samborondón, Casa García is located in the safest area of the city, within a private citadel next to the Historical Park and has 24/7 security.

Unipark by Oro Verde Hotels is located beside Parque Seminario and within Unicentro Shopping Mall, opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral and just 3 blocks from Malecón 2000.

We needed to stay overnight between flights and I was very nervous given the city's reputation. The hotel is by far your safest option for short term stays, it is 2-300 meters from the terminal, you can easily walk it if you don't have luggage, the hotel entrance is just by the security checkpoint, so all safe. We took the complimentary hotel shuttle, had someone waiting for us in the terminal. They have a dedicated entrance/exit in the airport parking so the transfer takes 2 minutes. Swimming pool was nice and you have a nice view of planes coming in to land. Room was clean and with all amenities you would expect.

The staff truly were incredible from the moment we arrived, everyone went above and beyond to help. For example, we needed assistance with our Galapogos form, and was helped with each step. As well, we needed some cash from an ATM, the security man didn't just tell us where the bank machine was. He went with us and stood by as we got our cash out. The morning shuttle was stuck waiting at the airport, and without us knowing, they had a paid private taxi at the door minutes early the take us. That is great customer service. We highly recommend this hotel! We also tried the room service food, and it was great, reasonable.

The breakfast buffet was great! The staff were extremely friendly and efficient in helping us. The pool area was very relaxed and helped get into the holiday feel.

I spent two days in Guayaquil. The hotel is close to the airport and a shuttle was waiting for me at the exit of the airport. Every thing was fine including the foods at the hotel restaurant , I recommend .
