Toured the hotel and loved learning its history. Staff know you and are ready to help in any way. Plenty to see as soon as you walk out the door but also a pleasure to spend time in the room.

Noordin Mews is situated a 5-minute walk from Komtar and 1st Avenue. Heritage Area is a 10-minute walk from the hotel while Gurney Drive is a 15-minute drive away. Fabulous stay, my first time in Malaysia. The characterful and historic building is renovated with great taste and simplicity, creating a comfortable, secure and relaxing environment. The room was of good size, comfortable bed, desk etc and excellent shower. The air-con was efficient and very necessary! Breakfast is by the pool and offers a daily "Asian special" which features the different cuisines of the island. The hotel is located just outside the UNESCO bufferzone, the neighbourhood is safe and very walkable with many exceptional eating options within a short walk. Special mention for the hotel staff who were exceptionally welcoming and attentive.

Situated within the UNESCO World Heritage city of Georgetown, Coffee Atelier is a collection of 5 beautifully-restored shophouses dating back to 1927. Featuring spacious suites with free Wi-Fi, it an art gallery and its own coffee museum. Location, staff, the schnitzel and Austrian wine at the owners restaurant! We stayed in a ground floor room with the open but enclosed courtyard and having that idyllic private outdoor space was amazing! The breakfasts were superb, the coffee amazing and the room cleaning incredible given the explosive suitcases we seem to have ! It’s close to Chinatown, little india and amazing street food. Listen carefully to the restaurant tips marked on a map when you arrive!! Visit them all. Particularly the Indian and Chinese recs. Another we can highly recommend is nearby ‘Al Bash’. Try their Syrian dips! Wowee The Blue Mansion is a complete rip off but the other nearby Chinese mansion amazing!

Campbell House is conveniently located a 5-minute drive from Penang Museum and is surrounded by a variety of local shopping and eating options. It provides beautifully designed rooms with a seating area and free Wi-Fi. Lovely property , lovingly and tastefully restored. Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Room was well appointed and housekeeping excellent. Gorgeous well regarded Italian restaurant on site and surrounding area full of good places to eat. Highly recommended
