Our stay at this modern hotel on Miyajima Island was fantastic from start to finish. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable — a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Although the hotel is about a kilometer from the ferry terminal, they offer a free and very convenient transfer service, which made everything super easy. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the famous Itsukushima Shrine, the iconic torii gate, and also close to the ropeway up Mount Misen. We chose a plan with dinner and breakfast included, and the dining experience was truly exceptional — dinner was a beautifully presented multi-course fine dining experience, and breakfast was a traditional Japanese-style meal that we really enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and check-in, check-out, and arranging the transfer were all effortless. The small public bath was a great way to relax, especially the outdoor section, which was tastefully decorated with plants and felt amazing on a chilly night after a day of hiking. Highly recommended for a peaceful and luxurious stay on Miyajima!

My partner (now my wife) and I have always loved the view of the iconic torii gate in Miyajima. While looking for a highly rated hotel in the area, we came across ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA and decided it would be the perfect place to celebrate her birthday, and secretly, I was planning to propose to her on that special day. I initially reached out to the hotel just to ask if they offered any simple in-room proposal decorations. To my surprise, Haruka and Yuriko responded with so much enthusiasm and so many thoughtful ideas — from how to hide the ring box, to when they could prepare the room while we were out, to setting up a beautiful arrangement. On top of all that, they even upgraded our room as a surprise. It was all far more than I ever expected. A huge thank you to Haruka, Yuriko, and everyone at ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA. Your kindness, genuine warmth, and incredible attention to detail made this such an unforgettable experience for us. We’ll always remember how you helped us on one of the most important days of our lives — and we absolutely plan to come back. As for the hotel itself: the location couldn’t be better, just a short walk from Itsukushima Shrine. It means you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and stunning views both early in the morning and later at night. Our room was elegantly designed, with top-quality amenities and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on. And the meals — dinner and breakfast — were as delicious as they were beautifully presented. This is the most memorable and enjoyable hotel stay I’ve ever had. I wholeheartedly recommend ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA to anyone looking for a truly special, relaxing experience in Miyajima.

Renewed in 2013, Sakuraya offers affordable Japanese-style rooms with mountain or sea views. Free Wi-Fi is available at the public areas. Miyajima Ferry Terminal is a 3-minute walk away.

The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each comes with a flat-screen TV and an electric kettle with green tea bags. All rooms have a private toilet, and some have shared bathroom facilities. I had a delightful stay at Sakuraya. The rooms were clean and comfortable, providing a cozy atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience. Additionally, the hotel's convenient location made it easy to explore nearby attractions. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would highly recommend Sakuraya to anyone visiting the area.

Washington Hotel Hiroshima is a 15-minute walk from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and 20-minute walk from Hiroshima Castle. Hiroshima Museum of Contemporary Art is a 10-minute drive away. The property offers easy access to multiple shops and restaurants nearby. This place had the biggest rooms in all our Japan trip. View from our room was nice too.

Overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, Grand Prince Hotel is located a 15-minute drive from central Hiroshima. The hotel offers 5 dining options, a outdoor pool (only summer) and hot spring baths. The hotel is featured in Michelin Green Guide Japan 2013. A free shuttle is available from Hiroshima Station, a 30-minute ride away. Very small room, but known in advance, so acceptable. Would have loved the change to pay for an upgrade to a larger room, but the hotel was full. I thought the staff did an excellent job to accommodate all of our needs and wishes. Would stay here again for sure. Club was delightful and staff nicely engaged.

Hotel Granvia Hiroshima is directly connected to the JR Hiroshima Shinkansen (Bullet Train) Station. This Michelin 3-star rated hotel offers modern accommodation with 6 restaurants, massage services and rooms with free Wi-Fi. The hotel location is perfect, linked to the train station when we arrived from Fukuoka. With our multi-day Hiroshima Pass, easy to move around to Hiroshima's key attractions from the station. The memorable breakfast spread is fantastic, loved the food variety and options, which included beef steak slices as well. There's even soft ice-cream available, which for some hotels may only be reserved for dinners. They have a robot going around for patrons to place their used cutlery which many have fun doing so.

Reopened in April 2014 after renovations, Miyajima Morinoyado offers comfortable guest rooms and a spacious public bath. It is a 1-minute walk to Miyajima Aquarium and a 15-minute to Itsukushima Shrine. Amazing hotel just outside of the crowd. Sleeping was so comfortable. Having an opened window for a night is so enjoyable and rare for Japan.

Located next to Kanayamacho Tram Station, Chisun Hotel Hiroshima is a 5-minute walk from shopping area Hatchobori. Free WiFi is available.
