Relais Casali della Cisterna is set in two 19th-century building surrounded by a private park overlooking Lake Maggiore. Quiet, many fewer tourists than other more famous villages, great food choices on the waterfront, ferry service, excellent walks (up over to Cannobio), it has it all. And this hotel is a gem. Junior suite upstairs is wonderful. Great breakfast, excellent staff.

The intimate and modern Hotel Ancora is found on the shore of Lake Maggiore. Here you can experience an excellent, personalised service in a luxury, boutique hotel. It was a beautiful hotel, located right at the lake. The rooms were very clean, spacious and had all amenities we needed. We also booked a lake view hotel, which we highly recommend. The view was breathtaking. The breakfast was tasty, there was a variety of foods to choose from, from baked goods to fresh fruit and vegetables, from sweet to savory. The room service was exceptional, the staff friendly and professional and the hotel felt safe and welcoming. It was rainy during our stay, so we spent more time in the hotel than planned, and were happy to have been in the Hotel Ancora, as it made those rainy days extra cozy and comfortable.
