Newly opened in spring 2018, the Hotel Freischütz features a terrace. I was so pleasantly surprised! This place exceeded my expectations! Location cannot be better. Room was amazing, clean and well kept.

The 4-star Hotel Residenz Passau is situated on the banks of the River Danube, in the heart of the Old Town of Passau. St. Stephan’s Cathedral and the historic Residenzplatz square are 100 metres away. A superb hotel on the river front, the room was very comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was outstanding, and enjoyed on a lovely terrace looking to the river, well it would be if there wasn't a bit canal boat sitting there, and views up to the fortress. It was a reasonably comfortable walk from the train station, except that gps took us to the back entrance which we couldn't get into for quite a while.
