It was easy to find the accommodation. Graaff - Reinet is a must visit town! I found the staff at 4 Rothman street B & B to be professional, friendly and helpful in particlar due to the fact that I arrived very late. Unfortunately it was only overnight stay. We enjoyed our lunch at Maria's café as well as dinner at Coldstream Restaurant and visited the Graaff-Reinet Museum. We also browsed through local small business shops and bought very delicious dried fruit at Kamdeboo Slaghuis. The highlight of our visit to Graaff-Reinet was most definitely our stay at the Drostdy Hotel with superb breakfast. The friendly hospitality of the well trained staff stood out. I love Graaff-Reinet!
I love Graaff-Reinet! This town is well maintained and has the best restaurants. Maria’s roastery is a must for coffee and breakfast, Hello You is the cutest little lunch/ dinner spot and the Drostdy Hotel is a must for delicious fine dining or even just pop into their bar for cocktails. Sundowners at the valley of desolation is a Must! Visit Tim and take a tour of his farm and do a tequila tasting too at Roodebloem farm. It’s a walkable town and there are also many game farms close by if that’s something you’re into. Nieu-Bethesda is also not too far away for a day trip.Guest review bySiobhanSouth Africa - 8.0
OK, so Graaff Reint is not your typical resort town.
OK, so Graaff Reint is not your typical resort town. It is an old Karoo town and has the feel of an old Karoo town. That said, it has a charm all its own with some of the older residential areas lined with beautiful trees and streets wider than some of the national highways in SA. The town is easy to navigate and hard to get lost in. The town is nestled in the big horseshoe bend of the Sundays River and is nearly surrounded by Camdeboo National Park. Camdeboo National Park's big attraction is the Valley of Desolation, an impressive geologic formation. The old town of Nieu Bethesda is about 40 km north of Graaff Reinet and is an interesting place to spend a day wandering its unpaved streets and browsing its local shops and artists.Guest review byKennethUnited States

Great location within Graaff-Reinet, secure and quiet whilst still being at walking distance of restaurants etc. Great hosts as well, in every sense (friendly, communicative, helpful, ...). They helped us with the rest of our travel plans, which otherwise could've been a bit of a disaster! House is superb and room as well, renovated beautifully with great skill.
