    Plenty of shopping and dining options.

    Plenty of shopping and dining options. The mall isn't what it used to be, but there are strip malls and a lot of other stores. There are a lot of attractions in the area. Dined at Salvatore's Italian Restaurant on Rt 40. The staff was very friendly, food was good and reasonably priced. Visited Kauffman stadium. Very clean, well kept. Travelled when there wasn't a lot of traffic, wouldn't recommend travelling the area or I-70 during rush hour times. If going to the stadium, recommend that you get there early for parking.

    terrible front desk service no internet for my phone only...

    terrible front desk service no internet for my phone only one working elevator lost my reservation for second night the 27th so got locked out of my room finally found it and got let back in. My bookings rate was much higher than others paid for night way overpaid .Will most likely not use bookings.com again after overpaying and rude front desk will say room clean maid nice and bed comfortable

    We stayed in Independence because it was halfway between our two children. We ate at a couple of good restaurants that were close to our hotel. Getting around was easy. This trip was to visit family so we didn't take in many activities.

    The restaurants in Independence are over rated via recommendations of those who live there in terms of quality and taste of food. Yet, the beautiful, quiet, fun, most interesting place with the most delicious breakfast is close to all of our favorite venues. The owner Kim and along with staff members Robin, Deb, Sheila, the handy Man are all very welcoming making us and other guest feel right at home. An Absolutely Amazing experience however, we would recommend finding restaurants elsewhere in the metro area.

    It's a nice place to stay at, the facility was clean and...

    It's a nice place to stay at, the facility was clean and everything was in good working order. The check in staff was friendly and professional. But I did experience a minor service issue with the third shift attendant. I had book for four guest and made a request for 2 more wash clothes, she gave me a hard time about it she said that she was following corporate policy, so I asked for the corporate information. After that exchange she gave my daughter the towels as I had requested.

    Independence yes historic and once probably a beautiful town. But now sadly it's been over turned by crooked greedy police breaking and going against our constitutional rights. Full of playcaters and sideways lawmakers
