We (myself and extended family) were attending my grandson's wedding at Alyeska and rented 4 VRBO's in Girdwood. Overall, everyone was satisfied with their lodgings and enjoyed the beauty of Girdwood and Alyeska. It's definitely worth the visit! Although it is a small town, there are enough cafe's and stores to satisfy without losing the frontier feeling of Alaska. Lots of good hiking and places to eat.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Beautiful area and great hikes. The folks at the grocery store are very friendly, the local brewery is great and the food trucks supplied awesome dinner. We have travel with our 1 y old and liked it all. GIrdwood is a sweet location.
GIrdwood is a sweet location. Not far from Anchorage and a great place from which to have a day trip to Seward and the Kenai Fjords. It's a great town, where the locals made you feel welcome. Hightower pub was our favorite breakfast spot, and for the most part we were able to get around by car. We were able to see the northern lights on our way into town, and definitely took advantage of the lookout spots along the main highway.
