Cadiz is a very historical city & is located near Lake Barkley. I was impressed with all the things Cadiz has to see. This would be a great getaway for anyone that loves to fish and/or boating. They have several shops, plenty of restaurants. marinas with easy access to launch boats with a lodge & small cabins to rent and much more in this hidden city. Watch the weather. Pools close when they hear thunder then don’t open even after it stopped raining. It was to wait one hour past hearing thunder. When after cleared up they were not open even the indoor pool. Hot tub was broken also. I appreciate safety precautions but that’s a lot of money to watch TV in the room.would have cancelled but we would have lost money because you have to have a notice or they charge you. It is a bit of a drive into town, but we knew that going in.
It is a bit of a drive into town, but we knew that going in. Don't come to Lake Barkley State Resort Park for things to do in town without expecting a 20 minute drive into town. There are plenty of things to do at the resort park that you don't need to go into town to find things to do if you enjoy the great outdoors. The views are breathtaking! The sunsets are amazing! The fishing is very good. We brought food with us, so we didn't eat at the restaurant this time, but be sure to ask if there is a mini fridge and microwave in your room. Ours didn't have either.
