Booked this hotel as an in-between stop between home and New Orleans. Just offering the interstate, it was very quiet. The staff were excellent, very friendly and the epitome of southern hospitality. Bessemer, AL is our halfway point for our trip from Bridge City, TX to Charleston, WV. We have stayed in several of the hotels on Academy Way and I must say, the Holiday Inn is our choice for all future stays. We rested very well in this facility and location.Guest review byHarrison - 10.0

We spent our time in Hoover and downtown Birmingham. We had been to Bessemer before and our experience then was that the hotel was its best feature. My opinion remains the same. Location was good. Comfortable beds. No breakfast, no coffee, no bagged breakfast , fruit or muffins, ** As Advertised** no coffee in the hotel at all. Coffee maker in room did not work and no one could replace it. The Staff said they had no idea how to take care of it for us, they couldn’t help us, & couldn’t give us another coffee pot. We had to leave the facility to get morning coffee and bring it back in. We arrived at the hotel 7:15 pm, our room was not ready. After driving eight hours. The check in time was different from what it said online, I get up to the room and it was smelly like mold, the location was bad and there was drug deals going on in the parking lot. The outlets didn’t work, some of the lights wouldn’t turn on, there was dead bugs in the room. I tried to get a refund and they wouldn’t give me one when I was in the room for 10 mins.
