    This is just a fun, albeit small motel to stay in traveling through Barstow. It was my first stop on the way from California to Tennessee. It was just charming. The staff was very friendly and kind. I could not rate a place cleaner than this one! I will to stay here if I travel east again!

    We were just passing through on a road trip.

    We were just passing through on a road trip. Barstow had a good variety and availability of hotel rooms for us to choose from that were reasonably priced. It was easy to get around. We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant located in a truck wash, the location of which was unusual, but the food and service were great. We left with a very positive view of Barstow.

    You get what you pay for. It was a bit dirty.

    You get what you pay for. It was a bit dirty. I'm fairly sure that I got bed bug bites from the mattress. It was hot when we arrived. They did not have the A/C turned on and it took 2 hours to cool down so we could sleep.

    The route 66 museum was unfortunately closed.

    The route 66 museum was unfortunately closed. The railway museum was open, not that interesting unless you are a train nerd.. The Harvey House building could have been interesting, but not much to see and no guide available. The Calico ghost town was very commercial unfortunately.. The McDonalds was fun in old railroad cars! The murals are cool! It could have been a drive through destination instead of a stop over.

    Barstow is a great place to stop and rest when traveling long distance. There are many restaurants to choose from. Accomodations are the most reasonable I have ever experienced and you get so much more for your money. People in Barstow are friendly and helpful.

    We enjoyed our visit to Barstow very much.

    We enjoyed our visit to Barstow very much. Exciting to drive a short section of the famous Route 66. The highlight of our visit was the historic Harvey House, which has an amazing and interesting story related to Fred Harvey, who came up with the idea of providing quality places for train-riders to stay and eat beginning in the late 1800’s. This Harvey House is home to three must-see museums/centers: Route 66 Mother Road Museum, Western America Railroad Museum, and NASA Goldstone Deep Space Visitors Center. All are free of charge, but welcome donations. Visiting hours are shorter and some are weekends only. So check before going. A bonus activity is watching the trains passing by, which happens multiple times in an hour.

    Fantastic room with a lovely pool. We had an upstairs room overlooking the pool with a great view and a small balcony. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. A lovely breakfast was included. Couldn't fault anything about the hotel, and the location was good if in a car, but don't venture out on foot though, as there were so many hobos and beggars that it didn't feel safe, although once in the hotel it was very safe.

    This is a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for. We stayed in 3 different Super 8 hotels during our American road trip and this was by far the worst. Surly staff on check in....I thought I had done something to upset her! :-) The room was clean, but it had a strong smell of a spray being used to disguise another smell. Easy parking, and there are a few fast food places within easy walk.
