This place has an amazing ambient and a beautiful soul! It was like a hub for the coolest people from every country, looking for a peaceful, extremely relaxed vacation in a bit of wilderness, heartfelt conversations with alcohol next to the fire… it’s all in the package, and as a bonus you get one of the best teams - owners and staff members that are right there for you literally every minute. Thank you all guys- Benjamin, Annick, Cliffton, Melania, Elisabeth and others whose names we did not get to know;) You were all so amazing that even after two weeks it was a pity to leave. It’s a very quiet and enjoyable place and you can book lots of activities from there but overall there is not much going outside the hotels. The public beach doesn’t have any good restaurants or shops so you’re pretty much tied to your resort.Guest review byJudith1287United Kingdom

It is the 2nd time I stayed in this hotel. I stayed in room 17 which was an amazing lodge with a wonderful ocean view. It is the perfect place to relax. The staff is exceptional and very helpful. The sunset view is really special. You can sit at the bar and chill or sit around the fire. If you are lucky, you will be able to see monkeys playing around. Breakfast and dinner were really tasty. We mainly used the days to relax as we did a lot on the island in the first week. We had breakfast and dinner included. Both could be chosen from the menu, the portions were really big and more than sufficient. And not to forget, delicious with a view of the sea. We had booked a bungalow and were overwhelmed. It was better than the photos on Booking.com show. The staff were always very courteous and friendly. At low tide you can take long walks on the beach. It is a beachfront very cosy hotel with a mesmerizing Indian ocean view and lovely sunsets. It is accessible to the village, taxis and boda bodas. The rooms were clean with an amazing decoration. The owners were very kind and customer-oriented. You can taste mouthwatering breakfast and delicious dinner. For me Mama root is a highly recommended paradise in Kizimkazi.
