Great new resort, comfortable large villas, delicious breakfast. Common spaces, bar area and pool are well maintained and clean. We used the gym and although not large it had everything we needed. SPA was great to for a massage. Staff was very professional and when we encountered an issue it was resolved very efficiently. Short walk to the beach through Jambiani village.

Fantastic accommodation right on the beach! Staff was absolutely amazing, super-kind and willing to assist at any moment and with any request! Bungalows are beautifully maintained, our beds were made every day with beautiful decoration, just like the photos on Booking show. Swimming pool kept clean and nice. Food in the restaurant was delicious and perfectly safe (fresh fruit and veg washed in filtered water). After receiving the confirmation that the bar also uses just bottled water, I think we tried all of the cocktails and genuinely enjoyed them! Our particular "thank you" goes to Precious, who helped us organize all the different tours around the island: snorkeling, scuba diving, Stone Town visit, a day at Kendwa and Nungwi beaches, turtle cave,.... always managing to find the unbeatable, best price! The sand on the beach right in front of the resort is probably the finest and whitest of all on Zanzibar! What we liked in particular is that the beach was also not too frequently visited by beach vendors, and they were definitely not allowed to enter the area around the swimming pool in resort. This really helped the tranquility under the sun!

AVO Boutique Hotel was exactly what we were looking for. A laid back vibe and fantastic staff. Nothing fancy or pretentious but everything you need. What can we say about Mahi Mahi? We will never forget the four beautiful days and nights we spent there. Perfect, peaceful location, away from the crowds. Near the village, where you can go around exploring on foot (do it & support the local community!!) Stunning view of the ocean, delicious food, abundant breakfast and very good choices for lunch or dinner - prices of the restaurant more expensive than what you find in local restaurants nearby but still quite affordable. All of the dishes delicious - congratulations to the chef, who btw took the time to come and meet us :) I tried the "chef's special" everyday during breakfast :). Clean, spacious rooms, you wake up and sleep hearing the sound of the sea. Now THAT is a memory to hold on to during winter. Amazing service - thank you Sifa, Skola (special thanks for the on-the-go Swahili lessons to my wife) Justin, Ilias, and I'm SO sorry I forget the names of all the other nice people that made our stay so wonderful, we thank you all! This was a beautiful place to stay, we spent 7 nights here and loved every minute of it. The property is a short 2-3min walk from the beach. The rooms are large and well furnished with all the basics you would find in a normal hotel/B&B in Europe. The bathroom is very big and the water pressure is really good. Hot water comes on quickly. The bed may be slightly on the firm side, but this didn’t bother us. The next best thing is the food! Breakfast is copious and delicious, but all the other meals are also very well prepared. Everything is fresh and tasty.
