Prachuap is a delightful Thai town.
Prachuap is a delightful Thai town. The esplanade along the coast is super for walking, running, cycling. Ao Manao Bay is fantastic for chilling in a beach chair, zipping on a banana boat, or eating good Thai food. The weekend market has many different types of food and cheap clothes and accessories. There are also a couple of quality non Thai restaurants in the town, back from the coast and some good coffee shops. The temple on the hilltop is worth walking up, except for the monkeys. Not really sure about Prachuap KK - far too many stray dogs which can feel a bit frightening especially at night! Not many reviewers have mentioned this - our host had walking sticks to deter the dogs and monkeys! The place is very low key and not many places to just sit and have a drink at the end of the day. Aquarium was excellent, cheap entry. Museum of science and technology very interesting if you could read Thai. No English unfortunately. Prachuap museum although small was very good with detailed info of the local history etc in English and Thai. A special thanks for the free guided tour by the local official on duty. As it appears to be closed make sure you ask and they will open it up. Free entry. Invigorating walk up the 300+ steps to the temple on the hill for some magnificent views. its not resort, in 5 days i saw maybe 15 tourist there, in the beach we were only ones, no loud bars no gogo etc. you can just peacefully relax, cheap food, also night market, can take bicycle and cycle around (dont choose main roads) nice countryside with few traffic, probably it would be good idea to rent scooter or car to explorer more, i just spent 5 days, 2 days used bicycle (20+60km) just cycled and discovered no itenaryGuest review byRein - 10.0

One night only is too short. I extended my stay. The town is not big, but after many big and noisy places this place is perfect. No mad traffic. Lots of very nice restaurants and cafes.
