    Tatranska Strba is less than a ten minute drive from Strbske...

    Tatranska Strba is less than a ten minute drive from Strbske pleso, but it's much less crowded. There is also a cog railway that runs through the area up to Strbske pleso, which is an alternative to driving. There isn't a lot of commercial activity in Tatranska Strba, but there is one small grocery store and a few restauarants, one of which (Koliba Zerucha) is quite good. Probably best to have a car while you're here.

    I have a very bright memory of this place, like from a fairy...

    I have a very bright memory of this place, like from a fairy tale. Everything was perfect, even the local bus to and from Strbske Pleso. Host in Vila Kamila was very kind and professional. When I wrote him for my late coming he replied me right away. And he waited for me that evening to come. He was very prompt to respond on every matter I asked. There was nothing for criticizing, really.

    Nice little town, a few but good restaurants (can't tell my favorite but you will find it). The woods are clean and the landscape is really beautiful. Overall a much better experience than the nearby (more touristic) Strbske Pleso area which is crowded and louder. A very peaceful spot from where you can start your daily hiking.
