Everything vas exceptional. From food, to hotel staff - we were very pleased with everything. Like EVERYTHING. Not a thing that was remotely bad. Really great hotel, with amazing nature. We loved everything about our stay in Grand hotel Stary Smokovec. It was not our first time there, but it was the first time with our toddler and she had the absolute best time! The staff was super kind and helped us with everything we needed. They also made special arrangement regarding our room - extra bed for no fee and bathrobe and cute slippers for our little one. The hotel is simply beautiful and has great amenities - The spa and wellness is very clean, well organised and super pleasant. Children can play in huge kids room close to the bar so the parents can enjoy coffee, drinks and even food while watching their children having great time. The restaurant was awesome - tasty food and many many options for breakfast, lunch and amazing a la carte dinner. Even special request of our daughter for a glass of milk in the evening was fulfilled! The hotel staff is a team of great professionals. The fact that there is private parking right in front of the hotel and the location of this hotel being in the center of Stary Smokovec is obviously a huge +. You can choose from variety of rooms, we had a junior suite and it was very spacious and quiet with a view from one side on Lomnicky stit and from the other on the sunrise above Poprad. We will definitely come back again!

The hotel is located in the old historical centre, in a building with a lot of history but still the room was very modern. Our room had a nice view of the High Tatras. The personal at the hotel was more than nice and very helpful. We were offered tips on what to visit and which trails to hike. Breakfast was delicious and we had a large variety to different dishes to choose from. Our room was sparkling clean. If you are looking for a place to stay at the feet of the High Tatras, this is the place to stay for sure when we will go back to Poprad Doma u nas will be our option.

    This is the village where my husband's grandfather lived...

    This is the village where my husband's grandfather lived most of his life until he was about 17/18 years old. We came to explore our family tree and ended up meeting about 19 family members during our 2 night stay in Batizovce. We also drove up to the High Tatras (just 30 minutes away) and walked around the lake at Strbske Pleso then enjoyed a lovely meal at the Grand Hotel Kempinski. Our only complaint was that there really isn't a fully operational restaurant in the village. We had to drive to Svit (which was only about 5 minutes away) but we would have preferred to walk somewhere. The village only has 9,500 residents so maybe they just don't have the numbers to have a restaurant that is open more than a few hours each day.
