The apartment is equipped better than many 5 star hotels- it is done with love and style, have various things plus more- from toiletries, to even spices, of course coffee, tea and even sweets, everything smells nice and the balcony is very nice to sit outside with Porto Santo view in the distance. Check in was easy and there is free parking in front of the house. You will need a car as the apartment is not in Machico center but by driving only few minutes

We loved absolutely everything during our stay at Marques house. This is the perfect option of accommodation for a reasonable price. The owner brings you bread every morning and offers you homemade wine and fruit. The bedroom is comfortable, in the kitchen you can find anything you need and the bathroom is also very nice. We were happy to stay at Marques house.

Machico is a very good choice for a stay in Madeira – cozy, not so crowded, with lots of restaurants etc. And this apartment is a very good choice for a stay in Machico – the center, shops, restaurants, the beach are a few minutes away, but also you can get out of the city very quickly. Even our car hire company was almost in the same street. It took me only 15 minutes every morning to go to the local bakery and return with freshly baked bread and buns for breakfast. The apartment is very cozy, with lots of handmade items. Small, but has all the necessary amenities. Extra bonus – extremely friendly neighborhood cats, we just adopted them for a few days.

Exceptional value for money, and very large place especially for 1 person. Could house a family easily. Easy enough to reach from Madeira airport by car and to Sao Lourenco reserve the next morning. Proprietors provided all the information needed to find the property and get in.

    Machico resort is not for the night clubbing holiday maker, It was however for us a slow paced setting with a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets with walking routes for those who wish. The harbour offered boat trips, whale watching and surf lessons, the latter was enjoyed from the safety of a dry vantage point. Local bus into Funchal for 2-60 euro single was 50 mins away which opens up further opportunities for excursions and sight seeing like the red or yellow hop on hop off bus tours which operate from the promenade where the ticket is valid for 24 hours allowing to to spend time where the mood takes. Weather forecasting in resort will not take into account the drizzle from the mountains with can add a cooling break from the sunshine and occasional rain. Enjoy.

    A nice area to stay outside Funchal where I find it still preserves. We stayed in the best Modern Guesthouse, ate local foods in O’Gala and Massa Mia. They have two beaches. The rocky area and the sand area.

    Nice small village nearby 2 beaches with all the necessary shops (supermarkets) and several restaurants. Away from the buzzling city. 😄 But by car nearby some touristic hotspots like Santa Cruz, Funchal, Cristo Rei, Santana houses etc.

    Machico was good for food shopping, restaurants, and bars. We didn't use the beach, but saw lots of people swimming. The town is handy for some great walks on the east end of the island. We even managed a walk to Porta da Cruz and back from town.

    Machico has shops with souvenirs and snack bars and restaurants as well as a clean beach with golden sand and changing facilities. There is also a supermarket and bus station enabling travel to other destinations on the island. People are friendly and helpful. There are many places to simply sit and have a drink and a snack.

    Great village with range of facilities, as well as sandy beach (rare on island) together with pebble beach and harbour. Lots of places to eat or drink out, car parking (some free as well), supermarkets, shopping outlets, places of worship and walking that is safe.

    Perfect location for exploring Madeira, the small town of Machico is within walking distance where you will find a selection of cafes and restaurants to enjoy. We hired a car whilst in Madeira and there is parking nearby which is free. The owner was very welcoming and even greeted us with a bowl of fruit, some Madeira wine and jam and crackers. Lovely touch. The house has everything you could possibly need for a weeks stay. We cooked a few nights and used the washing machine. Really comfy bed.

    Everything you need for a good vacation in Madeira, if you want to feel the real, not the touristic, Madeira. The kindest host, truly welcoming and warm attitude. The restaurant serves traditional Madeira cuisine, locals also love this place. Fantastic location with the superb views.

    You wake up in the morning and go out and you see amazing views of the valley. The location is also very good to access the north of the island but also the south. The apartment is clean and it is styled on the old period houses of Madeira. The host is very very helpful.

    Great location close to the beach with a great view. There was a parking space we used everyday without a problem for free. Prepare for some steep steps , but that is a standard in Madeira. Spacious house with well equipped kitchen and comfy bed.
