Lisbon has a lot to offer.
Lisbon has a lot to offer. The locals were very helpful when we needed directions or subway use help as many young people spoke English. Use Uber to get around when necessary, including to and from Sintra, as it's of great value. Take normal precautions as you would in any tourist area. Be prepared to walk, mostly uphill it seemed. Easy to get to the ferry, bus and trams. Unfortunately, there was a lot of garbage around which was probably from tourists and not from the locals. I think it was difficult to keep neat and clean although we did see many street cleaners. The Time Out Market was great fun, noisy, crowded but an event in itself. The custard tarts were delicious. The Resistance Museum reminds us of todays fears and angst. The Oceanaria was wonderful. The airport is horrendous especially the passport control system. Chaos. Lisbon is vibrant and busy. So much to see. It felt very safe. The food is exceptional and all the people really friendly.
