Gerês is a beautiful National Park. Impressive nature, with plenty of hiking trails that are very diverse in nature, from the arid mountaintops to the waterfalls along the several streams that flow through the park. Culturally, Gerês also has a lot to offer.Guest review byMartaNetherlands - 4.0
It's boring and overcrowded.
It's boring and overcrowded. The small river beaches are full of people, there are only couple small supermarkets. We tried two pizza place and the pizza was bad in both of them. Gerês is one of my favorite places to visit in the north of Portugal. No matter how many times I visit, I will always be amazed by the waterfalls, and crystal clear water lakes in this rocky mountain. I love mountains and forests but live in the Lisbon area so visiting Gerês National Park was wonderful. There isn't a whole lot to do, especially if you don't have a car, but what there is to do, is great. Very worthwhile experience. 1. Get a massage at the spa 2. Visit the thermal pool, sauna and steam (or other services) 3. Take a guided Jeep tour through the National Park. 4. Stroll through the local forest park. 5. Dip in the park's pools. 6.
