Taupo is much better visited outside of the busy periods (school holidays). When there's less traffic and you can get around without issue and finding a carpark is more likely. So much to see and do and many amazing restaurants. Not having a car meant I couldn't go outwith Taupo. The boat trip to see rhe Rock Carvings was well worth it. Haka Falls was walk able but due to the heavy rain I couldn't do it. Taupo has a lot to do in and around town.
Taupo has a lot to do in and around town. I like it there and it seems like there’s a lot of family activities. A lot of runners and cyclists. Despite its central location we didn't find noise a problem. Large ,light filled, open plan living area with great seating options. Well equiped kitchen so meal preparation was easy.
