The room was bright and clean, with comfortable furniture. Enjoyed the sliding glass door to the porch. There is a great view down to the harbor. The bath was generous with a strong shower, separate tub, and ample vanity space.

This apartment is superb. It has everything you need for a short break away. It is so well thought out for groups of friends staying together. Even the sofa bed in the lounge has direct access to a bathroom without inconveniencing anybody. The apartment was spotless. The balcony out over the marina was a lovely place to drink wine and chill as the sun set. It is so well placed for any of the restaurants and cafés in Picton and great for early morning starts for cruises. We won’t stay anywhere else in Picton now. Great parking too.

We stayed in the Sir Joseph Banks suite, it was beautifully appointed, an absolutely gorgeous heritage building, very well kept up. Provisions for breakfast, a little treat and bottle of wine we’re happily received. Michelle picked us up from the ferry and provided transport when we asked. She was marvellous with us. In addition, their garden is beautiful and just right for the era of the house.

We were there for the annual Marina 2 Marina race which is a fun event to take part in. Picton is a nice place to visit so not just the town where you get the ferry to Wellington - it's way more than that! Good range of shops and restaurants to look at, great playground on the foreshore for the kids and a nice place to have lunch and enjoy the stunning view of the harbour. Plenty of boat cruise options that take you around the sounds and some good walks to do around the area.

While many will only see Picton as a quick stopover between the North and South Islands it is really worth spending a little more time there. It is a lovely little town with great scenery, wonderful access to Queen Charlotte Sound and good food, shopping and friendly people.

Stunning views down the harbour and plenty of eateries and accommodation options. We ate at Cortado twice as we could take our Labrador inside & they had a fab dog menu! A beautiful drive across to Anakiwa. We’ll definately stay longer next time.

Picton is a lovely place to spend a few days.. or explore further. Irish pub up the road was good for a drink. Mostly did our own cooking but nice cafes around the corner for lunch. Handy bus stop across the road. Went to Blenheim for a day ( check the timetable.. doesn’t go every day) Walked to Waikawa Bay and back. Edwin Fox museum worth going to as was the Mail Run cruise. We stayed for 3 nights… arriving from Wellington by ferry… and leaving by bus for Christchurch.

Lots to do and see. Recommend the Edwin Fox museum.

Lots to do and see. Recommend the Edwin Fox museum. Wine tours close by. Ferry port so always busy, Great selection of shops and eateries. Make sure you stop and relax for a while and perhaps walk the hills and surrounds. Pity the gondola never happened for Picton. Would have been an asset for the town. You can still see the scoured tree scape

Our luxury suite in this small boutique hotel was superb, beautifully presented with gorgeous furnishings. Location is very central, yet quiet enough to be peaceful. A complimentary glass of wine on arrival was nice too. Jo deserves a special mention for her outstanding efforts to make our visit as seamless as possible making us feel special, especially considering we are the only guests staying that night. As we understood it, Jo was not a normal member of staff but stepped in due to unfortunate circumstances.

That we could book a night at short notice & get a room + breakfast included for a reasonable price. The bed(s)were comfy ,room was warm with a very efficient heater and clean .The hotel was busy but not too crowded which was nice for us ! A larger deck & outlook to the pool area from the ground floor is nice too. Breakfast is always a hit at Edit Hotel ( was Picton Yacht Club Hotel previously ). The staff are just consistently lovely:) Being so close to everything in the township is very convenient .

The hotel couldn't have been any closer to the Picton ferry port which was really great because we have quite a delay and docked just after 11pm, hotel was easy to fine and self book in was very easy, we used it as an overnight stay only but the village/town is close if staying longer. The owners were very friendly Breakfast was very easy, the choice was scone or toast with butter and jam/marmalade with tea/coffee Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling on the ferry

We loved the food at the restaurant. The lamb was the best lamb we had ever eaten. We loved the view. We love the cleanliness of the unit & the extremely helpful nature of the staff. Absolutely nothing was a problem & they even gave us a late checkout as we were catching the 1 pm train from Picton to Christchurch. Great place to stay in a beautiful area of New Zealand. 🙏

Although the size of the room was not exactly large, it was one of the best accommodations I've had. This place has some New Zealand "spirit" and good vibe. It is in the center of Picton so everything is really close (1 to 5 min walk). Tiny small room with everything you need. Will book again.
