Great staff! Amazing place to stay and relax. They welcomed us with delicious muffins and gave us some food to feed the animals. Really good facilities, everything clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the walk to see the waterfall and the gloworms.

Beautiful, peaceful, idyllic location right by the water at Queen Charlotte Sound. We enjoyed walking the last leg of the famous Queen Charlotte track, which was a wonderful, relatively easy track offering superb views. Jumped off the jetty for a swim in the sound and within 2 mins having a hot shower at the apartment. Tanya and Shayne could not have made us more welcome. They clearly enjoy sharing their piece of paradise, and their enthusiasm is addictive. Very comfortable bed, great shower, well equipped kitchen, peaceful sleep. Don't hesitate to book and stay as long as you possibly can. You won't regret it! We've stayed in some gorgeous places in the South Island and this one was our favourite. At least our 3rd visit but under new ownership who have kept the service and standards very high. The room is very comfortable and the garden setting, back from the main road, provides a peaceful setting.

Beautiful little place to stay! Rosie was great with communication & very friendly when we arrived. It was bigger than we expected & only a super short walk to the water front. It's a great spot in a beautiful location.

    Stunning location in a lovely rural setting.

    Stunning location in a lovely rural setting. Abundance of wild birds in a beautiful garden setting containg fruit orchards. A very relaxing B & B where the hosts have added so many little extra touches eg chocolates beside the bed, M&Ms, good selection of teas. There is a pub about 2 miles away which serves stunning renowned beef burgers. Jill and Peter were wonderful hosts. We would wholeheartedly recommend the Owls Rest!

    Mainly a family stay if you have young children.

    Mainly a family stay if you have young children. It's a good location if you want to do some miles after the ferry. But next time I'd probably choose Havelock which is much brighter with food options.

    Smith's Farm Holiday Park is the ideal spot for a break. Located within a stones throw from the local Queen Charlotte Tavern, Havelock, and Anakiwa, the property is easily accessible. Barbara and Chris were extremely welcoming and looked after us throughout our stay. The cabin had all the amenities and facilities you need for a comfortable stay. Would highly recommend the waterfall track and glow worm walk to guests staying at the property.

    Jill was an amazing host who went out of her way (along with her husband, Pete) to make my stay comfortable. She made me a hot chocolate to warm me up after I came in from the rain and Pete drove me to dinner at the local pub. The room was comfortable and cozy.

    The owners are very nice. You can see there that night glowing worms 10 min walk. The public area is clean, we got all we needed. Low light pollution, helps to see the stars, when bow clouds butifully..

    Greeted warmly and as it was late a ride to the hotel a short distance away to be able to have a meal. Michelle the relieving manager was amazingly helpful and a huge asset to your business.
