The Tree House Lodge was simply amazing. I stayed in the separate tiny house, and it was perfect for just me. The lofted bed was such fun, and the room was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The setting was gorgeous, and there was a large grounds you could walk around on and admire the beauty of the scenery. I got an entire loaf of fresh-baked bread with breakfast, and it was the most delicious bread EVER!

Overall we spent 5 nights at Gary & Robert's place both on our way in and out of Christchurch. Honestly, this was probably the best stay I had during all my travels and definitely during our NZ South Island trip. It's not only about the view from the rooms, the tranquility, the hot tub and the two good natured collies Fraser & Cora - this place deserves 5 stars and above because Gary and Robert make such excellent hosts. I miss you already. ❤️

What a gem! A lovely, comfortable room with great views in every direction. Karen was an amazing host, even waiting up for us when our travel arrangements changed and we could only arrive very late. Breakfast was amazing! We wish we could have stayed much longer.

    I'm never disappointed with Cheviot.

I'm never disappointed with Cheviot. Discovered a great walk with the dog, which would also be amazing in spring with the daffodils in full bloom. The cafe I went to with friends was great, it was lovely to be able to have dogs in the outdoor courtyard, and the food was good.

Cheviot is a great place to stop to break up a long road trip. I would definitely recommend staying at the Cheviot Camp, Cabins and Motel. The Number 8 Coffee Shop is also wonderful. We were not impressed with the Cheviot Hotel restaurant. It's overpriced and we did not enjoy the food.

The Conway River View Cottage is a wee way from Cheviot, so I can only review the Conway River/Conway Flats area - it is absolutely lovely. A great place to escape the rat race :) As a writer, I enjoy places that inspire me - and this certainly did that. I could have lived there very comfortably.

    Great accommodation.

Great accommodation. Excellent room - very clean and well organised. Attention to detail with little extra touches - small Easter eggs, biscotti, slippers etc. Breakfast was lovely with home cooked muesli, stewed fruit and bread. Lovely gardens and amazing views across the valley and to the mountains. A lovely spa pool in a position to admire the spectacular views.
