    If you are travelling across Europe from Sweden to get a...

    If you are travelling across Europe from Sweden to get a ferry back to the UK (as we do) Zuidbroek is an ideal stopping off point. You do not need to hunt for your hotel through a busy town- it's just off the motorway! And the next day you have the pleasure of driving slowly across the Afsluitdijk after a pleasant wander round Makkum - the ferry is only 2 hours from there.

    Having stayed at this hotel before we had no hesitation in rebooking it. The location is perfect for us as family all live nearby in Hoogezand, Noordbroek and Groningen. The rooms are so spacious and comfortable beds which is important. The daily buffet breakfast certainly didn't disappoint and we used the restaurant on occasions including treating our family to a final farewell dinner. The staff were always very pleasant and helpful for\\rom the front, reception, restaurant staff, room service and ground staff.

    The hotel staff withdrew different amount of money from my card without authorisation and after one month still didn’t refund me 250 euro that their system of payment kept . This is really a bad management for a hotel which costs was 460 per night (without breakfast). I won’t suggest anyone this hotel.

    The location was nice. Don't mind the solar panel park view on one side. The other side has some green and some farm animals including alpacas which you can walk to. The hotel inside is also very spacious and nice. Rooms are huge. Big plus.

    The large room, a balcony with a clever lock so door could be left part open, a terrific breakfast, and courteous staff- a kind fellow explained why Van der Valk hotels have a toucan as their logo!
