Usually I always booked airport hotels only for departure. This time was an exception. There are 2 hotels near airport. One is Sheraton, which is even a litte bit closer to airport than hotel Hilton. But I decided to book hotel Hilton, because I like the architecture of this hotel. This time I visited the Keukenhof twice and spent 4 nights in this hotel. From airport there is a direct bus to Krukenhof and direct train to Giehoorn as well. To center station is also very convenient by train (only about 10.min, depending on which kind of train). The breakfast and dinner are very good! I ate the dinner every everning in hotel. The staff were also very friendly.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating specifically Karen and Amor in the reception desk even the others so very helpful. The shuttle service drivers where very kind. The breakfast staff were very friendly. When I inquired from one of the cooks who spoke english where I can sample the Netherlands sausages he offered to prepare for me and my wife some white sausages if I can wait for 20 minutes. I would highly recommend the hotel for those who love a homely service.

Super convenient for transit. I had three long connecting flights, and staying at this hotel located right inside the terminal (after security) was just perfect. So easy and hassle-free. The staff also do wake up call which is just amazing.

Between Dutch Windmills and Flowers

The gateway to the Netherlands, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the world’s busiest international passenger terminals and is home to the Dutch national airline – KLM.

The airport sits on reclaimed land around 3 metres below sea level on the site of a former huge inland lake. In fact, the name Schiphol may mean 'ship grave', a reference to the ships that would periodically be sunk in its turbulent waters.

A train station serving many Dutch cities lies beneath the terminal building which houses a mini Rijksmuseum exhibition, reference library with multilingual books, and plenty of shops selling the ubiquitous clogs, tulip bulbs and cheese.

Booking.com’s range of Schiphol Airport hotels includes several within the airport grounds. Others are in neighbouring Hoofddorp, a town also within the area of the former lake, whose De Eersteling windmill overlooks a dike encircling a former fort.

Another windmill – the Molen van Sloten – is across a canal from Badhoevedorp on the airport’s north side. To the east the huge Amsterdamse Bos forest is a haven of peace and tranquillity (apart from the occasional aircraft!) and borders Amstelveen. To the south-west is Aalsmeer, a town set on the huge Westeinderplassen Lake, and whose massive flower auction house receives daily consignments from all over the world.

    The Shiphol Airport is our favourite airport to enter and leave Europe. The Shiphol Plaza inside the airport gives you the option to eat for the first - or the last time - depends if you're coming or going - a delicious bite of European food. You may also just land with a carry-on and start shopping for clothes there. As Shiphol offers free WiFi you're able to navigate around even if your cell phone plan is not covering Europe. The main hall is also the entrance to the train station where you can start with a train (don't forget to buy a ticket at one of the many ticket machines, or pre-book online) to Amsterdam Centraal Station in the middle of Amsterdam.

    Great airport could see on all the notice bords exactly where to go and the people by check ins were very friendly and sufficient. Very good airport would recommend anyone and tell them how amazing airport in Schiphol is.

    If you are passing through Schiphol, it's usually good.

    If you are passing through Schiphol, it's usually good. They have a speed track for those making connections with a short layover at passport control. However, in the summer, they get lots of thunderstorms, and so flights don't often arrive on time. If you get stuck there, the Dutch are not particularly warm or helpful, so expect a calloused response to any requests for help, particularly from KLM and the border agents at passport control who seem suspicious about why you are in Amsterdam in the first place.

    In spite of the convenient location, and decent ammenities, there were issues with early gaining access to our room, no hot water on the bathroom sink, on both our visits, logging onto the wi-fi network, and confusion among assigned accommodation.

    I had a long overnight layover in Amsterdam, arriving after midnight, so I chose the Mercure for its convenient location in the terminal. It was a very easy check in experience and a very comfortable room, perfect for my needs.

    Very good price for Amsterdam, it’s not going to be the most luxury hotel for the price but the room was clean and comfortable, and parking is included. I’ve seen people in the reviews complaining about the distance from Amsterdam centre, but it’s actually not that bad - one bus for 15 minutes and a connecting bus for 20 minutes, both buses running regularly, or the 15 minutes train from Schiphol airport. If you can’t pay central prices, it’s worth the minor hassle.

    Nice room, very clean and spacious. Maybe not the most modern place i have been to, but absolutely well taken care off! The shuttle service is great, I used it twice (to and from the hotel) and you will be picked up from the Schiphol free of charge (the fee is only for the trip to the airport). The was a bathtub and I enjoyed relaxing there before the long journey. I think it is a good price-quality rate.

    A very good and comfortable option if you travel to or from Amsterdam airport. The only negative point is that there are fewer shuttles to that particular hotel than for the other Ibis, and that coming from the airport, it is the last one to be reached. So the wait may seem long when you arrive from a long flight.
