Our aim was visiting the island. Position is perfect for such purpose. If you want to spend your time at the beach of the hotel and enjoy swimming I guess the sea is more attractive in other part of Mauritius. Services, rooms, breakfast, dinner are outstanding. Swimming pool is beautiful. Excellent restaurants are reacheable by car.

In short, I definitely recommend staying in Shanti Nivas, I loved my stay there. Jay and Henry were very welcoming, helpful and overall great hosts. Their warm personality makes Shanti Nivas so exceptional. The rooms are spacious, airy, spotless clean and equiped with all the necessary amenities, including net against mosquitos (very useful). Balcony with outside seating area is again spacious and faces the beautiful garden Jay and Henry created. The garden is simply beautiful and it contains sizeable part of all Mauritian plant species (not kidding!), including impressive papaya tree and range of other plants, which attract fruit bats and various bird species. Definitely take the breakfasts, they are served in the garden and very yummy - selection of tropical fruits was lovely, but for me the special highlight was the omelette, the chats, and the red cardinal bird of course :) Also best value for money from the places we stayed in. The only thing to consider for pedestrian travellers is that the road to nearest beach or anywhere outside of the village is a for the adventurous folks as there is not much space for walking on the road and locals drive fast, but you can take local taxis/buses and if you have a car, this is no issue.

The room had a view of the garden, not of the pool or the beach. But we didn't spend our day in the room, we went out. So it was not important to have a garden room or a beach room.

Architecture, layout and landscaping of the resort. Relaxing atmosphere all over the hotel. Great pools and beach. The entire staff was very attentive and super responsive to all requests. Food was great at all restaurants that we tried.

We arrived with a nice welcome mocktail, all the staff was amazing and very helpful ! The room was incredible, as well at the view, the room was so clean and comfy, the breakfast and dinner was amazing the food is really good quality and the service 10/10. All the personal is so invest and so nice we had the chance to live few local experiences with them! It was so calm and relaxing with this huge view on sea ! The experience we had at the hotel was just perfect we recommend 100% and will be back definitely

This is such an underrated resort It s so beautiful, surrounded by a beautiful, well looked after lush garden, wonderful beach, 2 big swimming pool + water park The rooms are very big, clean and bed very comfortable Food Excellent and personnel very attentive and polite. From the moment we arrived, everything about this hotel was flawless. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it only got better from there. The hotel itself was perfect—clean, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The food was also perfect. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. You can tell the chefs take pride in what they do. But what really made our stay unforgettable was the staff. They were genuinely friendly, helpful, and professional at every turn. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, everyone went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. In short, this hotel exceeded every expectation. We can’t wait to come back!

lovely beach and lagoon. Enjoyed kayak, pedallo and tube. Perfect swimming pool. We ate at Mondo restaurant, Royce street and Duck laundry. Food was excellent everywhere.
