It is a good location with easy access by bus or taxi to Valletta and good views of Valletta across the harbour. It doesn’t have a beach but we got the bus over to Fond Ghadir beach (flat rocks not sandy) and the Roman baths cut into the rock, which was good fun. Il-Gżira was the perfect place to stay during my trip to Malta. It's centrally located with easy access to everything, and staying here gave me the flexibility to explore the island properly. If you're planning your itinerary, I highly recommend starting with a harbor cruise that includes the Three Cities, it's a beautiful and relaxed way to understand Malta’s history and layout. From there, hop-on hop-off buses are a great way to see the main sights around the island at your own pace. Next, don’t miss the full-day cruise to Gozo and Comino. The crystal-clear waters of the Blue Lagoon are as amazing as they look in photos, and Gozo’s charm is well worth the visit. One thing to note: most tour flyers in Sliema leave out two absolute must-see, the St. Peter’s Pool Beach, a natural rock formation perfect for swimming and cliff diving, and Popeye Village, a quirky, colorful film set-turned-theme-park that’s fun even just to walk around. These are a bit off the beaten path but absolutely worth the extra effort! Il-Gżira itself has a relaxed vibe with plenty of restaurants and easy connections to the rest of the island. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it as a smart base for discovering Malta!Guest review byMareSerbia - 10
