Skopje is a mix of everything. They decided to "borrow" different things from different places, in a strange way. Skopje's a strange city - largely because the entire city...
Skopje's a strange city - largely because the entire city centre has been rebuilt after the 1960s earthquake and the fall of Yugoslavia, and is now inundated with vast statues and grandiose buildings (never mind the weird pirate ships in the Vardar River). We love it nonetheless. Everything is maximalist, but the riverside restaurants are excellent and the museums aren't afraid of confronting the horrors and ironies of the past. Just be careful when getting into a taxi ... Albania, Kosovo and N. Macedonia are not countries in which to be naive on that score.Guest review byTomBulgaria

The owners are very nice guys who will help with anything if needed. You can't see it in the photos but there is AC as listed in the description. Supermarket KAM is meters away, closed on Sunday.
