The staff at Hotel River Front is 100% the reason you should stay here! They arranged our transport from Mirissa, and to Ella. Booked our safari and sent us with a packed breakfast. We ate dinner at the restaurant at the hotel and it was so good and affordable too! Their safari driver was great, we saw 2 bears and 2 leopards along with elephants and everything else we'd hoped to see. This is a perfect place to stay to safari in Yala.

We had such a wonderful time at Art Yala! The house is modern, spotless, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. The family made us feel right at home, and the dinner they prepared was one of the best we had during our trip. The rooms — especially the bathrooms — were spacious and beautifully designed. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

The location is great, next to a beautiful lake! The host is super nice and took me on a tour to show the surrounding nature, which was stunning! He also picked me up and dropped me off to the busstation and helped me plan a safari! The room is spacious and clean! I really enjoyed my stay here, definitely really good value for money! I highly recommend :)

Beautiful place and beautiful people. We had a very warm welcome, with a rich dinner of local cousine. The room and bathroom were really clean and the bed very comfortable. We were also impressed by how clean and well-maintained the exterior was. They also had flexible check out, and in addition, delicious refreshment drinks were waiting for us after the safari. We would like to say once again a HUGE thank you to Randy and his family. We felt like home. You will never regret choosing Elegant Lake House for your stay. Randy is the most amazing host we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. He gave us a tour around the village, shared his knowledge about birds and animals , showed his garden with some fruits tasting, arranged the safari tour and the taxi to our next destination. You will also have a chance to go to the temple not far from the place . You will get to try some new juices (at least for us it was something we've never tried) They provided us with two bicycles that we were using to move around. He also offered to give us a ride to dinner places. We had such an enjoyable stay at Elegant Lake House. Thank you very much !!!

The hotel is beautifully located. You can go for morning or evening walks around the lake (or with a TukTuk) and spot many animals. The lake is also visible from the balcony. The hosts are amazing. They’re welcoming and very friendly. They organized us Taxis and a Safari. Also they prepared us a breakfast to go for the Safari Tour. Highly recommend this place!!!

Great stay near Yalla National Park and a superb place to sleep. The room is huge, with AC and the location is beautiful. It is outside of town, but with your own transport nothing is too bad. The staff is the best with great support and nice people overall to talk too. We had dinner here too, which was amazing, and they helped us with our TukTuk lights and exchanged money for a fair rate. Breakfast was the best we had during our trip.

It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

    The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

    This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. The local town is not a tourist town but it's great to wander around looking in the local shops.

    We were there the first time for safari.

    We were there the first time for safari. We had a tour to the Buddha by the sea…amazing. This time we were passing through on our way to Ella. We ate at Red Pizza which was just as good second time round.

    Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari. Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear. Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2. Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck. So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive. Basically disappointed ☹️

    Quiet hotel with a sparkling 25m pool and well kept gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was very good with sri lankan or western options. We had dinner at the restaurant one night which was also good. A 5 min walk to a Cafe, restaurant and small supermarket. We also booked our safari through the hotel and don't think the experience is any different to the ones you book online which are more expensive.

    We had an amazing experience at this hotel in Sri Lanka—it's truly the best one we've stayed at. The hospitality is exceptional, and the food is delicious. They even organized a fantastic safari for us, during which we spotted a leopard and a bear. The entire stay was unforgettable, and a special highlight was the complimentary boat ride arranged by the hotel. Their hospitality is truly top-notch.

    Hotel was very comfortable and clean. Has a great pool area and pool. Good location for Yala and hotel organises it, best day in Sri Lanka so far! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Manager is lovely and dropped us in town when we needed to get a bus.
