We had a wonderful time here. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a private pool and a beautiful river view. The bed was super cozy and the AC worked perfectly. Breakfast was excellent and really delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend this place if you're visiting Wilpattu!

What a wonderful stay we had at Taru Villas. We booked last minute and were greeted warmly by Mark when we arrived. We quickly realised that as it was low season, we had the entire hotel to ourselves! We were upgraded to the best room on the property with a gorgeous jacuzzi overlooking the jungle. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Full board was included in the room price and we enjoyed an outstanding 3 course breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked specially for us by the chef. The key highlight for us was the outstanding service and friendliness of the staff. They couldn’t do enough for us. A lovely touch at the end of our trip was that they had arranged for us to plant a tree in their gardens, and had prepared a beautiful plaque with our names inscribed. It was a truly memorable trip and couldn’t have been any better. I highly recommend to everyone!

The team at Raalmadu resort are by far the most accommodating and caring family of amazing people I have ever met. I've travelled the world far and wide for my job over the last 10 years and I've never met a group of people so lovely, so warm, so welcoming, so accomodating and kind. The owner even picked me up personally in his car and drove me 3 hours out to the resort when he found out there was an issue with the organised driver and checked in with me regularly during my stay to make sure all was okay. The resort itself sits on the very edge of the national park and you feel completely immersed in nature, so much so that you can even see elephants right at the resort itself! They come to drink at the pond at the end of the property and cross the river at times too. The food at the resort is also amazing!!! They prepare it fresh for you every meal and they cater to whatever you're feeling like and offer an amazing authentic Sri Lankan cuisine experience . The room is beautiful too and has everything you could need while enjoying the bliss of the jungle. I was even lucky enough to spot a leopard on my safari in Wilpattu. It's so rare to find an authentic gem like this is today's world, where everything is personal, thoughtful, and completely surrounded by nature. I'll be coming back again, not just once or twice, but many times!!! My kind heart felt thank you again Raalmadu, I left my stay feeling like family! See you all again soon!!!

The food and service at The Backwater's Lodge was exceptional and even though we missed our flight connection they rearranged everything without any issue. I recommend a swim in the river after a day safari!

Our stay at Wild Wadi Wilpattu was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and incredible service. We had the opportunity to embark on two incredible safaris with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. The wildlife safari was absolutely breathtaking—we were lucky enough to spot leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and so much more in their natural habitat. The boat trip through the mangroves and lagoon was equally magical, offering stunning views and an up-close encounter with Sri Lanka’s diverse ecosystem. The food was simply outstanding—authentic Sri Lankan cuisine at its finest! Both breakfast and dinner were full of flavour, freshly prepared, and truly showcased the best of local dishes. The accommodation was comfortable, well-equipped, and immersed in nature. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle, surrounded by monkeys and wildlife, was an unforgettable experience. It felt like a true escape into the heart of Sri Lanka’s wilderness. What truly made our stay so special was the wonderful staff and the incredibly kind owner, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. Their passion for hospitality and wildlife made us feel right at home. And last but not least—the absolute star of our stay was Duan, the owner’s young puppy. He is, without a doubt, the most adorable and charming little dog we’ve ever met! If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure, breathtaking nature, and top-tier hospitality, Wild Wadi Wilpattu is the place to be! We can’t wait to return.

The host was really nice and managed to organise the safari at the last minute. We saw elephants near the river in the night, it was incredible!

Our stay at Wilpattu Nature Resort was unforgettable! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering a peaceful escape right next to nature. We enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals, especially the breakfast and dinner, which were full of local flavors. The highlight of our stay was the kayaking, lagoon safari, and camping experiences. Being so close to Wilpattu National Park, we also joined a thrilling safari and spotted incredible wildlife. The resort even has its own island and two camping sites, perfect for adventure lovers. The peaceful riverside setting, friendly staff, and unique activities like fishing, cycling, and boat tours make this place truly special. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway near nature with a mix of comfort and adventure, Wilpattu Nature Resort is the perfect choice!
