Best hotel in Sri Lanka. Super clean and really, really beautiful. But the best is, without any doubt, the people who work there. They adapt everything to our choices. Special comment to the chef who cooked one of the best foods we tried in our trip. Rooms are big, the pool is amazing, wifi works perfectly and the whole atmosphere is super nice. My mum and I had a lovely stay in Moringa Mirisa. The rooms are very newly decorated, comfortable and modern. There were tea and coffee making facilities and the rooms were well air conditioned. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. They always had a smile and a friendly hello for us. The breakfast was delicious and there was loads of it. We really lived the fresh fruit. The free cold water was a nice touch. The hotel is a 7 minute walk to the beach.

Beautiful sea breeze, although the hotel is back from the beach and the main road so it was very quiet. There were some ants getting into the balcony and the room, and the staff came and cut down a branch from an overhanging tree (the ants' highway!) and put down some ant powder.

Dylan and Company, as we would like to call them were an integral part of our beautiful stay at Mirissa. We booked a Deluxe Room which could be easily mistaken for a suite. The property does give you the option to pay in USD/INR/LKR. We booked breakfast with our room where Sri Lankan and Western options were provided. We chose the latter that consisted of ample slices of Toasted white bread, two Masala Omelets, a piece of Sausage and a slice of Bacon with fresh fruits, giant pots of Coffee and Tea, and two beautifully cooked Pancakes on our last day. Snorkeling and Beach Beds were provided for free with extra beach towels if needed and short yet delightful conversations alongside whenever our paths met. The beach is located literally 10m from the property and is mostly secluded although we visited it in July so the crowd could be subjective. At night when you run out of options or places, make a hot pot of beverage and sit on the comfortable chairs in your private balcony with the sea gaping right at you.

The host family were so incredibly kind. The room was lovely with all the amenities listed. The location was perfect for me. It was a quick walk to the beach but on a quiet road. Would very happily stay there again. Because the family have so many tall mature trees it is also a lot cooler in the garden which was a welcome treat on hot days.

My favorite spot was definitely the beachfront area right in front of Paradise Beach Club – calm waves, golden sand, and perfect sunsets. I also loved Coconut Hill, just a short walk away, with its panoramic view of the ocean and palm trees. Where I Ate- Most of my meals were at the Paradise Beach Club restaurant, which offered delicious Sri Lankan curries, fresh seafood, and good international choices. For variety, Mirissa has some great little cafés and beach shacks nearby – I especially liked the fresh juices and seafood BBQs along the beach. Mum's Kitchen, Big Belly & All you can eat were equally good. Mirissa is very easy to get around. Most places are within walking distance if you’re staying near the beach. For slightly farther spots like Weligama or Galle, tuk-tuks are everywhere and quite affordable. we booked our car for the entire trip. things to do- Whale watching tours Sunset at Coconut Hill Beach hopping Surfing

Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where...

Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where tourism income trumps everything else - usually at the expense of the environment. So, if you’re looking for an idyllic escape to a pristine, tropical paradise, you’ll need to lower your expectations quite a bit. Unfortunately, the businesses lining the beachfront have been allowed to attempt to artificially hold back the sea, by building awful sea walls, sandbagging, etc. This has resulted in far less beach than there would naturally be. The other inescapable truth is that it’s quite polluted - mainly with discarded plastics (bottles, drinking straws, bags, etc.) and other rubbish. It really is heartbreaking to see, and it’s everywhere. Picking up a few bags of it everyday on my walks didn’t even make a dent! (This problem isn’t limited to Mirissa, by the way. It’s everywhere in Sri Lanka. Substantial regulatory change and investment in education are needed - now!) As a visitor, do your part and at least set a good example by not discarding your rubbish. On the plus side, the people are very friendly and welcoming, and there are quite a few great places to eat and enjoy a cold drink. I found the better restaurants on the main road rather than the beach. There are also plenty of lovely, small, family-run restaurants throughout the back streets that are worth seeking out.

I spent one night at a Coastal Villa in Mirissa, and it was one of my best experiences in Sri Lanka. The villa is situated in a calm and quiet area, yet it is within walking distance to both the town and the beach. The rooms are spacious, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The air conditioner functioned well during the extremely hot weather, and the staff were very helpful. Initially, we did not book the room with a meal included, but the staff were accommodating and provided a variety of delicious Sri Lankan dishes on short notice. I decided to extend my stay, and the villa staff easily fulfilled my request. I recommend Coastal Villa to anyone seeking a place to stay in Mirissa.

Mirissa was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Beautiful beaches, amazing sunsets, and a laid-back vibe but also plenty to explore, like whale watching and surfing. A great place to slow down and enjoy Sri Lanka’s south coast.

Beautiful, beach town with lots of restaraunts and spa,s and many beaches to choose from, my favourites being; Mirissa Beach, Coconut tree hill beach, kurumba beach. Kurumba Beach club is great for clean, tasty food.

Mirissa is an over rated tourist destination.

Mirissa is an over rated tourist destination. Overdeveloped with too many motels crammed into a small area and crowded beach ruin the setting. More popular with younger party generation rather than relaxing.

The location on the beach was amazing, easy to walk around and a great view. The pool was lovely, and there was enough of beach loungers. The breakfast and housekeeping staff were absolutely lovely, they treated us with kindness and were always ready to help. Breakfast was exceptional. After walking around beach in Mirissa the hotel seemed to have the best location. We stayed in a street view room, and the road noice didn't bother us.

Lovely little oasis in Mirissa. Beautiful garden, full of birds, peacocks and Monkeys in the morning. Owner and caretaker very attentive and helpful. Close to Mirissa beach, great for body surfing. The nearby hotel could deliver meals, great, as we had a baby with us. and invited us to swim in the hotel’s pool. Comfortable beds and hot showers.
