Beautiful colonial building with nice gardens. The rooms are beautiful and the staff are so attentive and helpful. Was the perfect choice after a busy 10 days travelling around Sri Lanka. They upgraded me to a better room which was very kind.

Beautiful hotel interior. All staff are very friendly and always smiling. It was nice that there was beach access. The attentiveness of the staff is what really made it stand out like contacting us before we arrived to ensure we were all set and they helped organise our activities. Its so Beautiful place. We enjoyed the beutiful pool, Beautiful restaurant for couple of days. We ate lunch and dinner there and there is enough variation for these days. This will be a place we always come back to. We loved the look at the monkeys climb in the trees and all birds singing early morning. Fantastic friendly and service minded staff. You can do yoga early morning by the pool or on your own balcony.

Kumudu, his team and his family are wonderful hosts and people. Always available to help, professional and discreet, yet personal, open-minded and open-hearted. Communication was easy at all times. The premises are well kept, exude a feeling of tranquility and make you forget you’re still in a city. The lush garden around the pool not only provides shade, but also privacy to the two double rooms and hosts an abundance of birds, squirrels and sometimes monkeys. The two beautiful double rooms with high ceiling are spacious, well-equipped, super clean, well-lit and feature a big bathroom with an open air (hot) shower in complete privacy. The beds are comfortable and have an airy and effective mosquito net. There’s a ceiling fan both in the room and on the terrace which was much appreciated as it keeps the mozzies at bay. One of the highlights was the delicious, fresh and plentiful breakfast on the room terrace, prepared by Janidu’s mother. I’m very happy to have found this place and can’t wait to return :)

The staff goes above and beyond: I had a family emergency and they helped me a lot, also outside of their working hours. They truly go the extra mile to make you feel at home and that I didn’t feel like I’m alone in this difficult situation. Sidesh is a great manager with a generous heart! The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

quaint and charming place, with a relaxed pace of life -- besides the Galle fort, peace tower, handloom factory, silk showroom, and spice garden, there lots of good places nearby with treks and forest trails-- mahamura, sinharaja, yala, ,kanneliya-- boon for nature lovers ! watch out for the leeches though !

If you're going to Galle, stay inside the Fort. Lots of charming little villas and boutique hotels where you can drop your bags and go walkabout, soaking in the colonial charm and enjoying the relaxed vibe. Great food options, live music and incredible sunsets.

The vibe that Galle fort shares during anytime of the day is marvelous. It is a super child friendly place with amazing shops and places at every corner. It has the ambience of a unique blend between antiquity and modernity filled with aesthetic taste of rich culture and art. Seems its potential is still untapped fully. Loved the eateries and little cafes designed with elegance and charm. It showcases the serenity of a typical European port city with Dutch colonial architecture.

We originally had one full day planned at Galle but we ended...

We originally had one full day planned at Galle but we ended up being there for longer. We didn't need to be there any longer than one day. The walk around the Fort was lovely but there were not really many good shops to see and it was a little touristy in the Fort. Unfortunately they still let cars and motorbikes and Tuk Tuks in the street of the Fort which was difficult to navigate. Not really much to do in Galle except for the Fort.

This is a lovely hotel in the centre of Galle Fort. The staff was fantastic, the breakfast is really good (there is a Sri Lankan Curry or several European brunch style, they also have Barista coffees which is a definite bonus if you like to start your day with a coffee. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable.

Hotel and the staff especially the two ladies working were just lovely. Very friendly, and our little boy was sad to leave them as they took the time to play with him. The breakfast was a Sri Lankan breakfast which was good. Highly recommend the hotel, it definitely has the Galle fort charm. Room great size.

The location is just at the entrance of Galle Fort, the old city. And there are many Tuk-tuks outside the hotel, so it's convenient to go anyplace you like. And the hotel offer the best Sri Lanka style breakfast. You can basically get any local food you want.
