This was honestly one of the most welcoming and thoughtful places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, Sydney and his team looked after us so well. The chef asked what we fancied and was very accommodating. He cooked the most amazing curry, lunch and honey hoppers for breakfast (which we were introduced to and absolutely loved). They even gave us a packed lunch for our elephant boat safari, which they organised, along with a great driver. There were little extra touches that made such a different, like beers in the fridge when we arrived (and they went to get more when we ran out), a cooking class with a local family, a really interesting forest walk with an indigenous guide and when we asked if we could do some laundry they sorted it for us with no trouble at all. The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet spot with amazing Mountain View’s, a perfect place to switch off. Would highly recommend supporting this amazing project. Such a great experience 😊😊

This is a sensational property in a wonderful location close to Gal Oya NP. Every single staff member were brilliant. Friendly, attentive, informative and nothing too much trouble . Everything was great. The owner and his family were so friendly and helpful! He organises safaris (by jeep or by boat) and village tours (by jeep). The food was one of the best foods we ate in Sri Lanka. I you want to visit the Gal Oya National Parc, this Guest House is perfect!

Charitha Rest provides an open-air bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Ampara. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay.

Lovely local guesthouse that was well maintained and comfortable. I especially liked that they had net curtains and a mosquito net over the bed so you could sleep with the windows open and the fan on, fresh air is the best! Such a charming town, with all the necessities close by.

With lake views, Gal Oya Lake Club is situated in Paraganakele and has a restaurant, a concierge service, bar, garden, sun terrace and year-round outdoor pool.

Absolutely speechless. We stayed three full days in this beautiful property with my wife. Our days were filled with serene and calm pool days with amazing boat safari, kayaking and massages. The service was exceptional, food was amazing and the rooms were absolutely amazing. It almost geels that I have no words on how much we enjoyed our stay. The service, quality and the attention to detail made all the difference. If you are looking to visit a beautiful property with amazing pools and the opportunity to do some boat safaris and other activities, then I highly suggest it. Greetings from Finland! My family (including teenage boys) and I had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming and produced a delicious supper and breakfast for us. We were positively surprised by the beautiful setting - if I could post some photos on this site, I definitely would! The property is surrounded by beautiful palm trees, wonderful fruit trees around the back and amazing spices, as well as a luscious green paddy field, all of which the host kindly showed us. The property is opposite a very pretty river and not far from the Gal Oya lake safari start. Would definitely recommend!
