Very friendly and kind hosts. On my arrival, they picked me up from the train station though the room is in walking distance from the station. The room is spacious, new, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Walking distance from the main street with all the bustling city life nevertheless the room is very quite. Only a couple of minutes walking from the beach where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets. Gaindu proposed many places to visit but unfortunately due to lack of time I didn't. Ambalangoda ended up to be one of the best places I visited in Sri Lanka and Sudu Colonial was one of the best places I stayed. Until my next visit I would highly recommend it.

A fantastic hotel in a great and quiet location. The facilities are new, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean. We stayed in a wonderfull room with a kitchenette, perfect for spending several days. A special mention goes to the manager, Methsiri. He helped us with everything and was incredibly attentive. He recommended a nearby restaurant with delicious dishes, and he also arranged a taxi to our next destination. We’ll never forget you, Methsiri! Thank you for everything!

YOU MUST STAY HERE...The family that own this homestay couldn't have been more welcoming from the start to the end of our stay. Upon arrival we were handed a cold refreshing drink while the rottweiler introduced himself. Ive been travelling 6 weeks in Asia now and quite frankly this gentle giant made me feel at home very quickly. The daughter helping with my travelling plug issue and connecting me to WiFi, she was simply keen to please in any way. The family's English was amazing and probably the best ive experienced in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was delicious with a huge bowl of fruit followed by eggs,tomatoes and some thick tiger bread with butter and jam. Jug of coffee much welcomed. If I needed something I felt like it was never too much trouble. Location is so close to the beach but feels like the jungle from my room balcony. Within 5min walking distance you have a pub with roof top ideal for watching sunsets called Beauty Coral Bar. A restaurant within the homestay so you dont even need to leave to get food. Another restaurant 5mins up the road called Simple Restaurant if you fancy a change. Clean spacious rooms with good air con,ceiling fan and I love the shower and toilet also very clean and spacious. The whole place from the restaurant to my room,the family and Location I LOVED IT SO much I had to stay another night. So from England Kent to Sunnys Homestay I send you my thanks and my love for everything you did for me.

The homestay was directly on the beach. Our room was very spacious, clean and we could see the ocean from our room. The breakfast was delicious with typical Sri Lankan specialties. We wanted to stay one night but prolonged it to a second night, we would even stayed longer but we had to get going.

Beautiful small place with family atmosphere. It is right on very long beach where you can spend time walking or relaxing. Also 2 min ealk is supermarket and 10 min walk is a city (and wine shops :-)). Employees including cook are friendly and nothing is a problem.

Everything about " EIT Masky " is likeable. (1)..: Starting with meeting your hosts ..: Mr. and Mrs. Madusanka ,who cannot do enough for you ..: making you feel 'at home', immmediately. Very good communication skills... we had great /interesting converstions about Sri Lanka, the surrounding Cultural sites in Ambalangoda (to which they'll spend as long as YOU want, taking you to them..at no charge !), provision of welcoming drink/fruits/warm hospitality,invitation to request, of them, if anything's lacking...which there is not ! (2)..Their "EIT Masky.." apartment ..: great wide balcony along your entire 2nd floor apartment...: huge living area greets you...: beautifully designed interior,modern /new appliances..: the air conditioned bedroom to the left..fridge/kettle/complimentary fruit/coffee, teas, etc. Great ,comfortable,large bed . To the right of the living room..: efficient/all essential appliances..: kitchen. Bathroom adjacent..: outstanding in size and modern ! Fans in large living room...no problem cooling the area, despite its size. I wish them every success with "EIT Masky"...it's a new venture for them, so I want very badly, they do well. Highly recommend to all other travellers to Ambalangoda . Plus..: the charge ,per night, for what you get....outstanding value !
