I am going to wax lyrical on the best place that I have rented. The situation right on Diani Beach Road gives access to bank/ATM and supermarket 5 minutes walk (turn right on exiting the property) Turn left and walk for one minute to reach a really nice Italian restaurant (Leonardo's) The food is excellent, prices well below other establishments and what you would pay in the UK. The host of the apartment is friendly, charming and very helpful. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. There is a balcony set off the kitchen area. Prop open the door for warm Kenyan air but please remember to close the screen door to oppose mosquitoes and keep the monkeys out ! There is a washing machine available which is really handy for longer stays and a regular cleaning lady. The bed has a mosquitoe net and is very comfortable. If you have a car, there is good security. For the price and locatiuon this is a must have deal. As the Terminator famously said "I will be back ! "

The place is very close to the airport, it's a great place to go for a vacation. The service was timely, Emily and Emmanuel were very friendly, helpful and fast to attend to any concerns or queries. I would definitely recommend Hellenas Gem to any one who wants a peaceful getaway.

    Its a nice place with a beautiful beach with clear blue water. Water in the apartments are however salty, I assume its because of the beach surrounding the area. Food and activities are expensive around this area.

    Ukunda is a great place to visit with family and also...

    Ukunda is a great place to visit with family and also friends.The best place to watch the sunset on Kongo river and the beach is clean with white sand. We very much enjoyed each morning watching the monkeys jump around in the trees surrounding us Also amazing food at the estuary with very good price and friendly customer service. Overall : A beautiful 👌🏾 , friendly and peaceful place to be.

    Ukunda itself is full of different kind of problems, but if...

    Ukunda itself is full of different kind of problems, but if we specifically talk about Diani, situation is different. Seaview access hotels are in general above average except, Flamboyant, Safari Beach and Seabreeze of which have many issues. Pricing 80$ to 500$ US. Then in Galu beach lies horrible trap places like this ghastly Coconut Village with incompetent teenagers left as managers. The second strip hotels are passable with pricing 35$ to 120$, but usually lack service ability and professional staff. The beach is very beautiful, but people around hotels hustling bring the experience down even bad.

    There are several sites you can visit and enjoy yourself, people are friendly but tend to over charge non residents so your bargaining power should be up there. Eating out might be costly but if you have full wallet then enjoy. Visit again? Well any day.

    Awesome as it has always been when traveling with children...

    Awesome as it has always been when traveling with children it's the best place with less parties than the north. We however visited club Manyatta and Tamarind which served the purpose right. Do not forget to visit Bora Bora park.

    Depending on your accomodation, Ukunda has everything to offer a few minutes walk from your house.Frrom shopping malls to local shops and groceries, High end restaurants and pubs to your quiet locals with pocket friendly local cuisines, the clean beaches and long relaxing evening walks. Ukunda is the place to relax and play.

    It was exactly right for what we needed in terms of bedrooms and facilities. The pool was lovely and although the location was a little bit further away from the beach than we would normally book it was easy enough to get places by Tuk Tuk. The staff who we met were all wonderful - friendly and helpful. It was also really nice that they had so many toys for the kids (and adults) to play with. We would definitely stay at The Swimming Ostrich again.

    We loved everything.The villa is well-furnished and modern.The rooms were spacious and clean.Their kitchen had everything needed and in good working condition.They also provide free clean drinking water which was very helpful. Good location,we had a free private access to the beach just 5 minutes walk. Mike was really helpful and quick to respond. We arrived very early in the morning,Mike was kind enough to allow us in before their check in time.

    The location was perfect! Right on the road side on your way to Diani Airstrip,also near the beach.The host Lucy was so welcoming, there are shops near to buy food if need be. There are alot of attractive places to visit nearby.
