Great hotel. The room was spacious and had a small balcony, and the view was incredible! The staff went above and beyond! I received a message from them saying to let them know when we were at one of the close bus stops (one being just outside the 'cruise' station (Togendai on the norrh side of the lake) and they would pick us up. Not only that but they offer to drive you to a local restaurant at 6:30pm and convenience store at 7:30pm at nights - as well as to the close bus stops after you check out. Absolutely incredible service! Great experience here, definitely recommend! The reason I mentioned the drive offers is because the location of the hotel itself is quite a walk (all up hill) from the local "hub"/transport stops. So not something "I didn't like' per se but just a heads up for you before you arrive.

My partner and I have been staying at Blisstia Hakone regularly, and it has become one of our favorite getaways. Every visit feels like a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The rooms are extremely clean, spacious & comfortable. The shower was spacious & I love the rain bath & shower. Both had strong water pressure. We received very attentive service. Staff responded almost immediately whenever we called. Our location is within walking distance to the Hakone-Yumoto Station. Extremely convenient when sightseeing. There is a 7-11 convenience store close by & a famous Ramen noodle shop a stone's throw from the hotel. Always a queue outside the store. Lot's of food stalls in the vicinity. . Really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Zagakukan.

Second time staying at this property and whilst I thought my first stay was fantastic my experience was further enhanced by the English competency of the staff present this time around which meant for no misunderstandings. The facilities are great for onsen with indoor and outdoor facilities, as well as cypress hot tub in the bedroom. Above all the food is Michelin worthy multi course for dinner and breakfast with various wine and non alcoholic pairings. Its modern interpretation of Japanese traditional cuisine from the region, locally sourced really imaginative. Really fantastic stay again and would visit when next on business in Tokyo.

This place was superb! I went at the end of my Japan trip and Hakone and this hotel were the perfect respite from the busy travelling. The room was comfortable, clean, authentic, and had an amazing view of the forest. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, and continuously went the extra mile with so many things including local recommendations and dinners. It really added to my time there and made it even more special. The onsen is superb overlooking the forest.
